A nice try but... With my S7 connected to my Roku via quick connect mirroring I could not get any pictures or patterns full screen so details were too small to make adjustments. Could not get the color and tint patterns to display on the tv while using the camera filter to make adjustments to either color or tint. Maybe it works using HDMI but I don't have an adapter to try it out. I really wanted this to work.
It does a good job of leading one through and explaining the steps of properly adjusting the picture and sound of your television according to THX standards; which are high. The filtered color adjustments using ones smartphone camera takes the guess work out of calibrating color. It even takes into account what brand and type of equipment. I wish they made one for musical stereo EQ adjustment.
Worked great for me using Chromecast. Just make sure you cast through the app and not Android itself. A little wonky: I had to restart narration during procedures because it didn't begin on its own. Also had to restart a couple times. My TV's picture definitely improved after using this app. Nexus 6P running 7.1.1
Didn't like it I screen mirrored and had the same problem none of the images would go full screen. And for the audio test only had options for 5.1 and the system wouldn't output sound on my rear speakers even though they currently work great. Altogether useless app in my book
Casting works Casting works. The introduction video on my TV presented very well and all the details were present. Switch to the actual calibration process and the pictures / patterns used must be different because no matter what I changed the screen would not show what they wanted it to. Tried with nexus 6 and two different TV's one was Vizio E40 D0 and the other a Vizio M55 D0. Both of these sets rate pretty well for their respective price. So maybe it presents better with some sets versus others.
Pretty useless. I thought that all the other Reviews were bad because they tried to Mira cast, Mira cast is limited to 720, and that's it, but chrome cast does 4K. Well this app is 2 years old and does not know how to use chrome cast correctly either. Wtf is the point of playing 2.0 the sounds on a mobile phone? Even when it is casting to the AVR?
Added support for Chromecast connection to TV.
