The new layout sucks. Instead of easily scrolling through the posts you now have to click through each one individually. It would be nice if you could adjust which view you use but that option isn't listed in the setting. Go back or allow the app to be customized and I'll give a better rating. Update: now it won't let me share anything. When you tap any of the share icons, nothing happens. Or if it does respond then it doesn't actually share the photo you had selected. Uninstalling today.

Why have they changed it to having to tap in order to change the picture....on days I had previously uploaded an album it's taking forever to get through to the next year. I used to love time hop, even more so now I have a son as I can see how small he was and how much he's progressed. Thank goodness Facebook has the same feature

What in the world were the developers of this app thinking with this latest release, I will never know! This app used to be great; you could share photos from previous years WITH THE CAPTION! Now you can't. You used to be able to share photos from past years next to a photo from today! Now you can't. WTAF? Ripping out cool features and making it boring, is NOT an enhancement, it's a ste backwards. Don't both installing this app peeps, just use Facebook's similar AND MORE SOPHISTICATED features.

I love being able to see photos and videos from past years, but I don't like the new UI from the update. I prefer to see everything on 1 screen rather than having to click or swipe each pic or vid. Can't view some pics cuz they won't load and Then/Now feature gone. Hope they change it back.

Used to love it but hate the new format... the swipe left is okay I guess, but the highlight around the words is dorky, and all the cool frames are gone. I don't feel like I can enjoy flipping through and sharing now. Facebook's Memories feature is better than Timehop now, which sucks because you guys thought of it first. Regret to say, I'm uninstalling.

Keeps crashing every time I open the app. Absolutely awful. It's due to the new layout as you have to swipe so much so the app just force closes! The new layout is HORRIBLE! If it ain't broke don't fix it. Now you have to swipe for EVERY SINGLE POST. Something that used to take a minute or two to scroll though now takes ages, if you have a lot of photos from that day. CHANGE IT BACK!!

The new Timehop is utter garbage. The pics take forever to load, you can't skip ahead. It's trash. If you took 700 pics one day, you have to scroll through all of them to get to the next set. Yes, you can ffwd one year but what if there are other albums that you do want to see after the 700 pics?! Regardless, you can't see anything anyway 50 percent of the time.
The new version is a real step backwards. It's prettier, but swipe per history item is just all wrong, especially when items repeat across apps (swipe Instagram, swipe Facebook, swipe the photo on disk). The old version had a scroll for everything you could scan through, which was better. Worst of all: sharing options have completely gone, which was the whole point of this app. Now+Then has gone, frames have gone, and so on. I can find old photos and share them directly myself - the ability to edit them first with coloured banners was the reason for using this app.
The old timehop was so much better. Having to tap through all the photos is a nightmare. The app constantly freezes amd shuts down when I'm half way through looking at my photos so then I have to start again. It crashes 2/3 times a week at least. Fix this bug or change it back. It's infuriating and terrible now
This new setup with the scrolling sideways is awful. If one year ago you have 50 pictures you have to scroll through 50 pictures even if you don't want to see them, one at a time to get to the next year. This app also needs to tell you when a previous date you're looking at was a holiday.
What on earth has happened. Someone at time hop must have been smoking something. Tapping to go through your posts is awful. Every single photo upload. I upload big batches at once and it takes forever. Then if you want a specific time hop moment you have to go through all of it. With fb offering pretty much the same now this is uninstall worthy. 0/10 would not try again
The new update is horrible. It's too bad it's switched to this format because this used to be my favourite app. Especially with my young kids, it was great to be able to see how they'd changed but now it takes forever to go through a year, especially if you're someone who takes a lot of pictures. I've been waiting for it to go back to the old version, or similar but it hasn't. I'll be uninstalling until things change for the better.
New interface sucks really bad. Cant share things to social media, cant save pictures or videos to my phone anymore. And if i can aave it, it doesnt show up in my saved pictures til days later. Been non stop issues since updating.
New layout is horrible and slow. Instead of just issuing updates to fix bugs, went don't you look at the reviews your getting and see that people hate the new layout so that you can revert it back to the way it was. I've lost count of the amount of comments that people are saying app now unusable so their now uninstalling. Time to listen to your customers!
I find the new layout cumbersome and unintuitive compared to the old one. It's difficult to have a quick browse through your memories, especially if there are large photo albums - you don't want to go through each one individually. There are still issues with duplicate memories and black screens/long load times.
I have never rated an app before in my life, but this last update was such a terrible thing for such a great app that I'm taking the time to say it. 220 day streak guys, and I'm about to uninstall the thing. How has this not been rolled back already? It seems universally hated. Anyone remember when time hop actually worked? Those were the days.
The new update is terribly designed and repels users, not attracts them. It's a way of jamming more ads in while completely compromising the app's function. I used to check out Timehop frequently. I enjoyed seeing photos, tweets, posts, etc. that didn't show up on Facebook Memories. Now I find it so intolerable and frustrating that I won't be looking at it again. I will wait until next year rolls around when they have hopefully fixed this abomination of an app. I rarely leave reviews but this was such a steep decline in quality I HAD to comment.
Used to really like this app. It's a great concept, but the recent updates were downgrades in my opinion. Way too many ads and I don't like having to swipe through every single picture. The album option was great before. Uninstalling. :/

after waiting and hoping for them to revert back to scroll after the almost entirely negative reviews since the change... sadly they haven't... and I doubt they will. clearly they do not care for their users and customers nor do they hear their criticism or concerns. so im uninstalling. new updates with swipe through makes it obnoxious. and not worth having. I liked being able to scroll through... this swipe garbage has to go. terrible update. ruined the app. there is legit not a single positive review I can find on these new updates. even the 5 star reviews are saying how awful this update is. GO BACK TO SCROLL!!!! or RIP Timehop. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
I don't even know if you are reading the reviews because all the issues have already been mentioned by others. It doesn't save photos...where is the collage option, please bring it back. Its tiring to go over each and every photo which were grouped by year in the last version. And also...sometimes when i share a photo...another photo shows up. What used to be a good start to the day... now just irritates me. Please take me back to old Timehop
I loved this app before you changed formats. One of my favorite things was seeing my posts in succession. Maybe add the option to continue to use the old interface? I find myself using this app less because of the change and using Facebook's "on this day" feature instead.
This app is great except for one problem I've been having since you rolled out the newest design. When I have alot of videos or pictures for that day, the app constantly crashes no matter how slow I go through them on the app. One idea I have is having the option to either go back to the old layout when the app never crashed on me or touch the year button and be able to skip ahead in the app.
Loved this app until the new update. Biggest reason I liked TimeHop is because it took me back 8 years on Facebook; Now it only goes back 3. This stupid format of tapping thru the pictures is ridiculous. Liked the scrolling version a LOT better. Why on earth would you get rid of half the features too? Supposed to be making it better, not worse. Get it together.
Used to love this app, but the weird sideways scrolling is odd.. Means you don't have a view of everything you might want to check out, have to scroll through everything. And no "then and now" why would all this be removed? For ad revenue?
This new update of swiping to see your pictures or videos is annoying. I don't have time to swipe all day. Go back to the old way where everything was easily accessed. Also the app also force closes and then you have to start swiping from the beginning all over again!!
New Review: This used to be one of my favorite apps but this recent update has ruined a great thing. It's unusable and unnecessary. The only thing that loads well is the ads. Please fix this. I still believe in you but I felt you were better than this. Old Review: Anybody could have created an app like this. But there is so much care put into it that it is a rather solid app. The only downsides are that my old tweets were rather lame. But that's the entertainment I get from this.

The update ruined the whole Timehop experience for me. Scrolling down was okay before but with this update, going through everything takes too much damn time. Pls return the old version.... P.S. I don't mind having ads if you'll revert it to the scroll down version. Ads in between years is fine but not every after posts. That's not cool, man.
I HATE this new version so much. What happened to being able to view all the pictures from a specific year and clicking on them if you want. Now if I posted an album I have scroll through each and every one of the photos! Not to mention no then and now which was my main point of using this app before. I stopped using this when it change a bit ago but I was hoping it would be fixed so I could do a then and now for my son's birthday. Loved this app before, completely useless now. I'm just using Facebook's "On this Day" because this is just terrible.
New update ruined the app. Scrolling through what can be hundreds of pictures (ie a Google photos album) at a time is untenable. And if an album is backed up across multiple sites, just forget it, I literally do not have the time it would take to scroll through all that. But also it forces users to scroll through, in full screen, any and all sad or unpleasant memories. I can't fathom what this design team was thinking with this update. UPDATE: I can see by almost all of the other recent reviews I am not alone in my complaints and yet the following update did not attempt to fix the fact they've made the app unusable. Uninstalling until they undo the new format, or design a workable one.
Ever since the recent update it doesn't show my personal timehop history only random historical facts. The Facebook "on this day" still shows my own posts. This app is horrible now.
I like time hop for grouping all my memories together. But the newest update is awful. The set up is weird and clunky. If you are going to force us to scroll through at least give us the option at then end of viewing it all on one screen and reading statuses in black and white, the colors are hard to read. They also took away the then/now feature or hid it so well i can't find it, and that was a great feature.
So close to uninstalling this app! Used to love it but since the update I hate the new swipe function. What's worse is I get halfway through looking and the app crashes, so I have to start all over again. If it was the older version I'd just be able to scroll down and see everything in one go. Only persevering because I have a 20 month old and it's nice to look back on photos of her. I really hope they read all these feedbacks and revert back to the old version!
Awful Since most recent update! Not showing full pictures, takes forever to swipe through photos, keeps freezing and crashing! There was nothing wrong with the old version so why change it?!?!
I used to be so in Love with this app but the new updates have totally ruined the app. Gone are the sharing options, the then and now photos, the frames, the ability to scroll through the app instead of it zoomed and clicking through each individual picture. The app is constantly frozen or with a black blank screen it's just horrible. Developers if you're really reading the comments please bring back the old Timehop! If not I'm going to have to leave you permanently.
Hate the new upgrade. I prefer being able to scroll through a mass of posts rather than click through each one. The ridiculous amount of ads is a huge turnoff as well
I loved this app. I used it every day. It was so fascinating to see what sort of mundane or exciting occurrences were happening on this day in my history. I'll never forget the mild disappointment I had when I lost my 370 day streak. Unfortunately, this update is very bad. I wish there were a way to go back to an earlier one. The UI is atrocious. I can't zoom in or rotate my images anymore. They just put that awful blurred/mirror stretching around horizontal images, which I have the most of with my photos. I think I will stick to Google Photos' memories from now on, as most of my images are from there anyway. Changed my review to a 1 star after the disappointing "State of Timehop Union" announcement. Please bring back the old interface!
New update is still awful. Still can't save pictures, when you share it isn't even the picture that was selected. You can't do a then and now any more either. Bring back the other version!!!
New format is awful. Long post overlap the screen and you cannot view it all. Days with lots of pictures no longer do the collage view ,you must scroll thru all of them to reach the next day so heaven forbid you hit a day where you took a great amount of pictures.
