Neat feature from a cable provider Generally works well. I'm not in the situation to save data but in places where my cell isn't strong and twc WiFi is available is nice. I typically don't get very fast speeds from these hotspots.
Can't be beat I've tested many of these locators and bottom line it pays to be a Time Warner subscriber for this one. If you just look at the map once you're logged in there's thousands all available free hotspots all over the place. If you like saving money this is the way to go .
Poor Signal Disrupts Com If the signal becomes weak, it disrupts your Internet connection. You have to terminate app to fallback to your carrier connection. But it is pretty good when you are in an area with a concentration of TWC hotspots.
Huge battery killer This app uses so much of my battery life. Also, the TWC connections are so few and far between, the app becomes useless.
It took me a while to understand the difference between the icons - the blurry ones are outdoor hotspots; the solid squares are indoor. It would be nice to be able to search by in or outdoor as well as distance and Passport. Also, the map needs to be updated to show more of the businesses around the outdoor hotspots. I found a hotspot in the parking lot of a McDonalds, but would never have known that from the map! You can really tell where the nicer parts of town are by the number and kinds of icons clustered there! Not so great neighborhoods are bereft of hotspots, or only have hotspots indoors, in businesses that close up and turn off fairly early.
Not consistant I work at a TWC Hotspot location, 5 bar signal. And can't stay connected!!!!
