alerts me when free WiFi is available nice data saver when traveling around town. like how it alerts me when I'm close to a hotspot. unsure if there is an auto connect feature.. but I have one on my actual phone, so it does it anyway. also love the "average data savings" feature, pretty cool! ...i believe you need to have a time warner internet account established and pay monthly to connect to passpoints..
Spectrum as a whole sucks..our internet and home phone is almost always out. We pay for something we don't even have..so who is the stupid one in this case? ME, that's who. They keep trying to fix it but still nothing works. And having Wi-Fi when I am out sounds terrific if it worked
Drains battery ! ! ! I'd been wondering why the battery on my Note 4 dies so early in the day. Mystery Solved : "My TWC" and "TWC WiFi Finder" are soaking up 20% of battery power, more than any other 2 apps or services on my phone! They do this EVEN WHEN I DON'T USE THEM!!! I expect I'll remove them from my phone. I thought they were 'added value' of TWC, but instead they are TWC taking value from my phone.
Had to uninstall from my new Galaxy S7 2 weeks after I got my new phone I started having WiFi issues. Ran it in safe mode for a day with no problem. Now back in regular mode this app constantly notifies me that I'm connected to Twc passpoint. Of course I am, I'm a Time Warner customer! Nothing but problems with Time Warner anymore! I'm removing this app today and hoping that I don't have to reset my phone.
Used to work okay. But lately, for maybe two weeks, maybe with an update install, it continuously gives notifications to sign into WiFi Finder to connect to my home network. But attempts to log in always result in a screen reporting XML error. Not to mention that I am connected to my network and operation as usual. Obviously not working properly. Really should give 1 star since this is SO annoying now.
It'll drain your battery. It has the option to prioritize your home and work networks, but sadly they have not enabled this feature yet. If your home or work is near a hotspot it will constantly disconnect you and bounce you between the 2 networks. It works when you connect manually but then you have to remember to turn it off once you get on the home or work network. I'm not sure why they have the edit/preferred networks button if they have not developed this part of the app yet. Basically this app is useless until they fix this feature.
