This app sucks The only thing is good for is seeing the guide or setting up a recording away from my home network. I can no longer download my recorded shows to my phone or stream them. Not worth downloading this app just for that. I travel a lot so it was nice to be able to DL shows to watch....as long as i had half a day for a 30 minute show to download.....
Changed my review I had a review about Tivo Stream working beautifully on my tablet. A day later it started crashing and I can't get through a half hour show. So I'm giving up and sending the "Stream" back to Tivo. This app still works great for controlling Tivo but forget about watching it remotely. But hey, my Samsung security cameras stream great and I could point a camera at the TV and .. oh never mind.
Updates have improved the app. It plays on my Samsung Galaxy Tab now. I miss the 30 sec skip button from the old app. Out of home streaming is not nearly as stable on the Android app as it is on iOS. I've never been able to get through an hour long show without problems. Downloading to the device is an OK workaround, but its convenience is limited by the time it takes to transfer.
Lies Live streaming does not work on android 5+ with Romio. This app is simply a glorified tv guide which does not even adjust for current channels which are authorized or even based on your likes. No access to view recorded shows nor Tivo recorded for you selection. Tivo should remove this app until it is ready to offer everything in the description. Until then, it is what I would expect from the cable companies idea of premium channel selection via your phone or tablet. Nothing more.
Please support landscape This app works very nicely. Much better for streaming my new TiVo Bolt to my bedroom tablet than the slingbox I used to use. I only have 2 complaints. I really wish the menu UI supported landscape (since I use it on a landscape tablet). Also, it would be nice if skip mode were supported. It shows the skip icon on the menu for shows that support it, but there's no skip button I can find while watching.
Is this really the best TiVo can do? Come on Tivo! You can do better than this! It doesn't matter if I'm in the house on the same network or on Wi-Fi outside the house it is forever losing the connection. When I try to reconnect it says the maximum streaming connections are in use. Downloading the show helps, but even that loses the connection all the time and takes FOREVER... Almost useless for watching shows. OK for scheduling I suppose.
