Read Below Hey guys, the app does work, it does exactly what it's supposed to do if your device is a Galaxy Avant & on T-Mobile's network & fully paid off. If you're getting any error message, like (Server isn't responding) or anything of that nature. Call customer service, ask them to update your IMEI, give them your Avant's IMEI, after they update it, thank them & then after your done with the call, shut your phone off. The turn it back on. Give it 4-5 hours, then try the app. It'll work perfectly fine.
a BOLD statement (kinda, maybe) The first and only (tmk) US carrier supported SIM UNLOCK app available as a FREE download. The description states clearly that it only works on the Avant currently. I don't own one, but I gave it a shot anyway. Nope! I'm sure you will have to keep a tmo account for a short period of time before the phone is eligible for unlock. The app won't unlock this phone or my S2 or my L9 or my F3 or F6 or even my S4. ALL TMO PHONES! I bet a call to tmo customer service will! Thanks T Mobile! Until 2016 at least...
My Wife was forced to use this App instead of the old reliable way to unlock (IEMI number and unlock code). Seemed to successfully unlock and all was good....then when she got to another country and tried to use a new SIM card, it says she needs to unlock the device. T-Mobile Tech support confirmed in their system her phone is unlocked....the app says her phone is unlocked, yet other SIMS do NOT see it as unlocked. Tech support tried to troubleshoot, but after 2 days, they said there is nothing more they can do until she gets back and they can physically get the phone and troubleshoot it. This means she is in another country for the duration of her trip with no working phone other than on Wifi. Thanks T- Mobile. How about you can this app and go back to the way that actually worked!
HTC One M8 is not compatible? The phone is 1 1/2 years old and was/is a popular line of cellphones. Reading other reviews, it's hard to find a phone this app works with. Was it just created to give T-Mobile good publicity? "We'll even let you unlock your phone!"
Useless app I called T-MOBILE customer care and even technical support and no one knows why it doesn't work. Though the unit is paid off and not part of my EIP. Funny thing though t-mobile blames Samsung, for me to call them directly. really?
Of no use, doesn't even recognize new phones Our family (5) have had the Galaxy series since its first intro. Most recently, my son's Note 5 was totally recalled & he had to go weeks without before getting his Galaxy 7. We were all going to Munich & Amsterdam for Christmas. We have been such reliable customers that T-Mobile unlocked all our devices in house. When we got overseas, we couldn't receive calls without wifi calling. We could make calls to the states and texts worked via mobile data. Guess who was of NO help - C/S, T/S or the app!
