HOW IT WORKS
trilg uses a typographic alphabet developed by Tobias Rehberger, built entirely from the intersecting lines of colour fields and outer contours. Each letter is abstracted from its everyday form — some barely readable at first glance, others clear once you know the system. ABOUT TOBIAS REHBERGER
Tobias Rehberger (b. 1966, Esslingen, Germany) lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. He studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt from 1987–1992 under Thomas Bayerle and Martin Kippenberger, and has taught there since 2001. His work has been shown at the Venice Biennale (1997, 2003, 2009), the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum Ludwig Cologne, Whitechapel Gallery London, and Rockbund Art Museum Shanghai, among many others. In 2009 he was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale. Rehberger's practice spans installation, sculpture, painting, and architecture, often exploring perception, space, and social dynamics.
