About this app

Connect wirelessly to your Calibre e-book library or other Stanza source. Browse and download your e-books on the go.

**NOTE: As of newer versions of Android OS, applications can no longer write outside their normal directory space. Calibre Library is no exception to that rule. Books will be stored within it's own directory, and you can automatically launch the book from inside the app causing FBReader or your favorite reader to open the book automatically without you even needing to know where it is! This is a good thing in one respect - it allows Android to clean up your device after you remove applications, because all data from that app will be in it's own folder. This DOES mean that it will not work with Amazon's eBook reader, because their reader has no ability to open based on MIME type.

Pair with Nook, FBReader or another e-book reading application for a complete solution. This is not an e-book reader app.

If your Calibre server is visible on the Internet, you can even use your phone's data plan to download books. If your phone has wireless, you can download books from within your own lan regardless.

Please note - this will only display formats offered by Calibre's OPDS interface, which does not appear to include .lit files.

Used to be the perfect companion to my virtual library, but calibre DOES NOT WORK with my Verizon, lollipop version 5.0.2. The download path is nonexistent and seeing as how you can't select your own path (for whatever reason, calibre makes this decision for you), you're screwed. The books exist in a non accessible virtual directory that you can't access. Broken. 1 star. Uninstalled and forgotten. Junk.

The last update broke down-loading. I'm using Calibre-Library on a tablet running Andriod 6.0.1. Before the November 2016 update, all was well. I could d/l to intermal folder or on SD. Now, I have to jump through hoops---reenter the d/l folder name on the SD two or three times before I can D/L books from my connection server. The error message is that the folder is read-only. It is not. After jumping through enough hoops, I can d/l books but this is getting REAL OLD! I'm downgrading Calibre-Library from 5-Stars to 3-Stars. I hope the developer gets this fixed.

What's new

Extended connect timeout for slow Calibre databases

Added MIME type override for ePubs to the downloaded notification to trigger opening them in the proper application easier.

*NOTE: In KitKat / Lollipop you can no longer specify where documents are downloaded to. In your reader application you should be able to add the private download folder shown in the CalibreLibrary preferences as a location for scanning for books.
