Ratings and reviews

Can't use Deco devices without the app, which requires an account and your location. Ie, they sell your info. App is very unreliable as are the devices. The app often has a difficult time connecting to the devices, which are very slow to boot as well. Furthermore, the configuration options are VERY limited as compared to competitors' products. Deco simply isn't for anything except basic internet access. Gamers, parents, and technical people simply won't have options they need. Look elsewhere.

If the app was more stable I would rate it a 5 based upon all its features. Frustrating when the Deco devices themselves are operating but the app has "cloud issues" and can't report the status of the system. The main Deco node shows by name but the 2 satellite nodes revert to name of "custom" and no status. This seems to be happening on a more regular basis. I followed advice from TP-Link and completed the app support form but no place to add images or logs? Live agent support terrible.

Deco app was painless to setup all Deco units and get their firmware updates so I quickly had my network. Later as I became more familiar with the app I find it very useful in determining signal strength for all devices and using that I was able to find an ideal placement with great results. I also use the app to control my connected devices in which band to use and sometimes which Deco to connect to. Very versatile and useful. Definitely an improvement over my previous wifi mesh.
