Application Name Should Match Launch Name There is absolutely no reason for this app to be called "TransLoc Rider" in Google Play, but to appear only as "Rider" in the application list. How can you say that you've thought about the user interface when you make it difficult for someone to even find your app? Two stars off for lazy, sloppy programming.
OK---when it works Often it doesn't and then you are stuck waiting for a bus that never arrives. The interface isn't very intuitive, and data sometimes takes forever to load.
Buggy App is way too buggy. Panning around the map is impossible, it keeps snapping focus back to the selected stop (even after you close the stops information panel). Feels like a huge downgrade compared to the app this supposedly replaces.
Never loads information The app takes forever to load, 3 to 4 minutes every time it starts up. The old app this replaced was much better. Huge downgrade to switch to this app.
Bloated The feature set on this app seems like it would be exceptional, but they don't quite hit the mark. Estimated arrival times at stops are based on the bus schedule, to which the busses are rarely adherent which renders them meaningless since they aren't based on the bus position. It's also a resources guzzling pig of an app: long load times result in clunky interface that makes using this a real pain. Stick with the old transloc app.
It's prettier than the app it replaces, but the UI can be unintuitive. Originally I found it difficult enough to use that I stuck with Transloc, but one day I couldn't get Transloc to work, so I made the switch, became accustomed to the UI differences, and grew to like this app. BUT I will be switching back to Transloc, if it works. Every time you open the app it reloads all the necessary data. Sometimes it takes a while, too. Want a quick look to see where your bus is as you get ready to head out the door? Sometimes that works, and sometimes you just waste more time waiting for data to load. Then, for the first time ever, I got a warning that I was on target to over-spend my data allowance. Checking my usage, this app is biggest data hog by far, responsible for more than a third of my total data. Still, the app is pretty and has a lot of good information. I froze it, rather than delete it, but I will stick to the original app unless I need the info that's only available in this one.
