The content is fine, Lofty knows his stuff - But I bought the full version and things like the Urban Survival guide you had to pay lots extra for. In the end you are going to be paying tonnes of money for something not very useful at all. Currently a paperback copy of Lofty's SAS Survival Guide is half the price of the app on Amazon and is much more useful in an emergency. Alternatively just download the United States Army Field Manuals from the Internet for free (legally, they are public domain) - Ask Wikipedia or Google, they'll find them.
Well I've got the full book, the Collins Gem version. That's a fantastic wee book. Tells you alot. Didn't cost more than £5 if I remember correctly. Fits into my front pocket of my Army issue Bergen, along with alot of other Gem books, like "Food for Free, Mushrooms, Trees and Knots" Though the SAS Survival Guide is by far the best. Lofty Wiseman thankyou for revealing alot of their survival 'secrets' Not for any other reason do I own the book. Signaling/Morse Code and fire's styles, health and medical tips are good to have, especially as I use the DD 3x3 metre Tarpaulin. So many designs for that...Paul.
Excellent Ideas I've read from lots of survival books and manuals. None compare to this one. It's the details that will kill ya. When you take care of the smallest of details the job goes smoother and comes out better. e.g. Read the section on Fire. If this doesn't prove the point nothing will.
25+ years in scouting and an Eagle Scout and I still learned a lot! I found he info easy to navigate through and many useful "outside the box" ideas presented in a clear concise manner. I found the Q&A review testing as a good indicator of which sections I should read through. I honestly didn't know just how much I didnt know!!I imagine the full version is even better.
SAS Survival Guide Lite Having had a chance to read, the information is pretty top notch. Written in British English, it does get a bit stiff on some points, but overall, the stuff in this book just may save your bacon. I am going to get the full version.
Good for a freebie This app has just the basic info you need in survival situations, its good in a pinch or for people who are new to the idea of survivalism. If you want more in depth info I'd suggest forking out the 6 bucks and getting the full version.
