About this app

Do your patients have asthma? Show them the pathophysiology of asthma in their preferred language.

The Asthma & Me app uses face detection technology along with augmented reality to create an educational short video overlay of a diseased airway onto a patient’s video selfie.

The video can be used to facilitate the discussion with the patient of what is occurring during an asthma attack – airway inflammation, bronchiole constriction, and mucus production.

The app uses the patient’s own smartphone or tablet device settings to select their preferred language.

When the phone’s front or rear camera is aimed at an individual face, an animation of the lungs is overlaid and a short video illustrating the physiology of an asthma attack can be produced and recorded.

This video can them be saved and shared via social media or email.

Download the Asthma & Me app to give it a try.
