Application aimed at fishermen, students and engineers linked to the fishing activity, in order to help improve the efficiency of fishing gear and the contribution of knowledge for the preservation of natural resources in the long term.
- Propulsion:
The function allows calculating the total thrust force of the
vessel and the tension in the tow cables according
to its characteristics
- Drag cables:
Entering the power of the vessel, we can calculate the minimum and maximum ranges used in the fishing industry: diameters, weight per meter, AM web, AT web, breaking load and compare it with the latest successful empirical records of the international fleet.
- Winches:
According to the characteristics of the fishing winch and the
towing cable (diameter and weight), we can calculate the
cable length and weight at 100% and 90% of the capacity of the
winch
- Trawl doors:
The application calculates the area, weight and consumption of the doors according to: the power of the ship, the type of vessel, the trawling speed, the type of fishing and the hydrodynamic properties of the doors (CL and CD). The results come from empirical records and mathematical functions.
- Drag systems:
The application offers the possibility of calculating, diagnosing and correcting the deployment of the different systems for demersal species and crustaceans. Its results suggest and allow to calculate: attack angles, net openings, gates and optimal
headrope deployments. The application can diagnose the results and suggest corrections based on successful experiences.
- Flotation and Ballast:
For the calculation of the floatation and ballast we use a rational criterion based on calculations, empirical data and information on the latest international trends.
- Cloths:
The application gives us the possibility to calculate: symmetrical and asymmetrical cuts of the cloths, codend design, calculate the lengths of the rope sections, square mesh designs, diamonds, cloth weight, thread area, filtration (U1 and U2 ) and cloth area.
