Lame Rarely reconnects Slacker and can't remember the last station I was listening to. Will show me there are a bunch of stations in the menu to choose from but won't scroll so you only get whatever shows on the first screen into the menu. Why do they have to make this so complicated? Give me a nice shot of album art, a play/pause button, and let me use the slacker app on my phone if I want to choose stations.
Fundamentally, all this is doing is allowing your car to use your phone's data plan. This app adds no functionality to the very limited apps on the car. You have to register on a PC to enable use of the app. So, no map updates, no editing of apps on car (I'd really like to remove/hide the movie, sports, open table apps), no anything really. Just phone tethering. Disappointing. Most importantly no Android Auto. If they don't update soon to support I'm just going to pull the head unit and replace with a Kenwood receiver that has Android Auto. It is so much better than this crippled and seldom updated interface.
I really don't get the purpose of this app. This has no basic functionality like maintenance upkeep or data for my vehicle of any kind. It just has useless information that I can find by simply using google. Music apps that I download unto my phone anyway??? I can just connect by using Bluetooth. I hope they revamp this app to make it useful. Like perhaps keeping all of the vehicle's information, stats, maintenance, scheduling for maintenance, tire stats, even gas status. None of this information is in the app. That should at least be the core of the app. Everything else is moot.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do, few bugs Entune does exactly what it's supposed stream audio and provide a data connection for Entune app functionality. Occasionally, I get a system busy message from iHeart but all it takes is a few taps and it's back up. Also, I've had few issues with the app losing my login information when it's updated. Otherwise, it has overall been a good experience and I'm happy with the app.
Terrible Why do I have to disconnect, search for no more than 10 locations to save, and then reconnect and sync these saved locations? This app is the Atari of phone/car apps. There is so much they could do with this and with their antiquated Nav system but they are still holding on to their map update fees...just give it up....integrate with Google maps that are always updated and has the best, most reliable traffic info (because it's based on real-time user data)
I wanted this app to work so badly I was willing to buy a Toyota Safety Connect subscription for all the extra Electric Vehicle functions, like Charge Management, Charging Station Map, ECO Dashboard, Remote Climate, and Vehicle Finder. The problem is that Entune crashes/stops working when I click Vehicle Finder or Charging Station Map. Always. Would you like it if your bank got 3 out of 5 transactions right? I reinstalled, and I’ve been clicking when prompted to send error logs, but they have not been acknowledged. We all have a right to expect better performance from Toyota. Consumer Reports magazine (July 2016) calls Entune a “stinker” and says they should go back to the drawing board. I am beginning to agree with them. If the app starts working properly I’ll be glad to update this review. Some of the other functions such as Open Table and MovieTickets are frivolous at best. Oh sure, I am driving in my car and suddenly I need to find a restaurant or a movie ticket? Pandora and iHeart Radio, even Slacker are OK, but as others have already noted, you don’t need Entune to enjoy these in your car. I would add that you certainly don’t need them if you’re using SiriusXM .
