I keep trying to give this app chance after chance and it has yet to tell me the VIN is valid for the vehicle that I purchased from a Toyota dealership. Every time I enter the VIN it tells me it is invalid and tells me to try again. I'm not entering anything in wrong because I check, double check, and triple check. The app hasn't worked for me at all. I had high hopes for it, yet it disappoints me time after time.
I hate everything about this app, down to it's very existence. I hate it so much that I will never buy another Toyota as long as it exists! I constantly have weird problems with it not connecting, not starting or not stopping... Toyota needs to learn to use industry standard communication protocols instead of trying to invent their own! My Chevy NEVER has issues like this, plus it supports Android Auto AND Apple Carplay!
It used to work all the time, after the last two updates it has stopped working. I used to just turn the Bluetooth on my phone on and the magic would happen on its own. Now I have to connect, disconnect, connect again, disconnect, restart my phone, restart the car, get out of the car and spin in a circle while singing "I'm a little teapot" and pray to the gods for the app to work. Sometimes, even sacrifice a goat.
I bought my Toyota today and even the Dealer at Toyota couldn't get the app to work. What a disappointment. This was one of the features I was looking forward using. I really Hated that. You make a major purchase on a first car and expect to use all the features of it coming off the car lot.
So.many small.problems! Half of features do not work on a consistant basis. Jave to.fuddle around on side of road, try to solve.problems. Plus trying to get some of features to load is next to impossible! The.only feature that seems to work quite well is the reminder to.renew the Toyota road assistance feature!. I feel a MAJOR update is in order and not with a new vehicle either!
It always says Pandora unable to start. Please try again later. Ugh! Update as of 2/23/17 New phone still have the same issues with Pandora and IHeartradio. They either can't connect or are busy. All I can do is force stop the app and then connect again.
