This app lets you and a friend play hexagonal chess. Please note that there is no option to play an online game with this app. Pass and Play means you take a turn on the device and then your friend takes a turn on the same device.
Hexagonal chess is a great twist on classic chess. Rather than 64 squares, hexagonal chess has 91 cells. The larger play area is offset by increased piece mobility. For example, rooks can move in six directions.
The app’s perspective button allows you to switch between several views of the game. The app includes a Tips Page to get you started. The Tips Page shows the pieces, their moves, and explains other rules. The Tips Page also explains the various controls. For example, the swipe arrow allows you to spin and tilt the board to a perspective that suits you.
As far as chess variants go, hexagonal chess is one of the best and a great way to stretch your brain. Hope you enjoy!
