A must have Better than all the options. Had it since beta, on the HTC Hero. BUT in Lollipop I have one issue. My screen brightness does weird things. Especially during the night, when I want minimal screen brightness, the screen sometimes just jumps to much brighter, which is really disturbing when I'm getting ready to sleep...
Was awesome... But development has stalled and most plug ins don't work anymore. UI looks very outdated and is neither intuitive nor efficient. Such a good idea though :-\
Was great but desperately needs update Hasn't kept pace with changes in Android. Has become really flaky with auto screen brightness. Inability to turn off both vibration and sound at night is really painful. Needs to figure out how to manage the "none" and "priority" settings of newer Android.
Love it! BUT! Needs more user friendly backup. Dev continues to insist it works, many users clearly see that it does not. Dev seems uninterested in user feedback While I LOVE this app, this developer seems to habitually and defensively dismiss feedback as user error rather than improve upon their design. The backup options in this app are hidden and mysterious - despite dev's insistence it works, backup has NEVER worked on any phone i have had, rooted or no. Dev is just wrong. Rather than address real issues (backups, rooted phone, etc), I was sent a dismissive link to help page. Missed opportunities for improvement & evolution using customer feedback...
Fantastic I've used Locale ever since I heard about it as a science project back when it was free. I always had issues with innappropriate sound levels whilst at work or in meetings & this solved those issues completely, then continued to solve many problems I didn't even know I had. With the progress of time & more improved features it's become something I have had consistently on every phone I have ever had. I've tried alternatives but Locale maintains a good balance of features & friendly UI. My life is noticeably affected when I don't have this enabled. Almost any feature can be covered with an extension which makes this app useful for really any use case.
Locale has become a shadow of its former self. Locale used to be on every list of must-have apps- for good reason. But with no update in 9 months and one badly needed, it seems the developer has lost interest in this former gem. Since the latest update (Nov. 2014), screen brightness and volume control have become erratic, disruptive, and inconsistent. Now just a source of frustration, at its peak Locale was unfailingly reliable, the best of the best. I'd be willing to pay to see it become that again. All it needs is a little time, love, and effort.
