The Two-way Strong User Authenticator eliminates the need for a computer user to enter user credentials in a secured software application. It is a utility application that works in connection with a second software application. While the second application is the main focus of the user's activity, the User Authenticator handles the task related to verifying the user to allow the user to have continued access to the second application. The User Authenticator maintains the validity of a virtual identification (ID) card stored in the user's mobile phone or mobile tablet. This virtual ID card acts like a physical ID card; but as it is in an electronic form, the virtual ID card performs verification and authentication functions to provide assurance that the user is indeed the true user. After a one-time user registration by the computer user, the User Authenticator activates the virtual ID card in the user's mobile device. The user can then install one or more other software applications configured to communicate with the Two-way Strong User Authenticator and log in automatically to those applications.
