Mostly better than a cab. However, the interface for the phone app is confusing. When it puts up the "confirm pickup" screen, I guessed wrong on if that meant confirm my order, or confirm the driver has picked me up, nor if a retraction is possible for a wrong guess. Being upsold didn't help. As that screen was up, it pointed me to an address a distance away. I walked. After confirming, wait was longer than expected. Not driver's fault, he was 3 miles away. Pleasant ride. Fix your interface!

One big problem with either the app or Uber's central system: you book a ride, the app tells you who your driver is and where the car is, and the car doesn't move. Ten minutes later the driver is calling you outside your door because you haven't come down but the app shows the car is still miles away. I've canceled rides that sat too long because I had to get to the airport, been charged a cancelation fee, and then discovered the driver was just pulling up to my door due to the stuck app.

Having recently been confined to a wheelchair I was thrilled to find out I could still catch a ride with Uber. *Updated review* Several months later I've found out that it's very difficult to get one of the wav vehicles for wheelchairs. I can fold mine but there isn't a place to add that until after a driver is assigned in a regular vehicle. I have to message or call the driver after they're assigned and if they're driving they don't always answer until it's too late to cancel without a fee
