About this app

***Please ensure you have at least 1.5gb of free space on your phone prior to downloading***

ULLR Adventure Maps is an award-winning app that provides highly detailed maps of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains as well as surrounding areas. ULLR Maps are custom designed from the ground up over a process that takes hundreds of hours, to provide adventurers with the most up-to-date, beautiful, precision maps available for use on their mobile devices.

Updated Maps:

- NEW: The Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains Map has been updated to include both mountains in one map. This update will be free to anyone who’s purchased one, or both WB maps previously.
- Completely revamped visuals
- Several run / feature fixes and adjustments
- Increased base image resolution.

The app features:

-Highly detailed winter and summer maps
-Run / Feature database including over 800+ on mountain entries
-Run / Feature search.
-Leaderboards (Global and Friends)
-Map specific information screen that includes links to weather, avalanche forecasts, WB webcams and grooming / lift status’.
-GPS location pinpointing
-GPS tracking
-WGS 84 Coordinate lookup
-The ability to find and track your friends
-Pin dropping/editing
-Safety screen that includes your location, elevation, and telephone numbers for your local rescue/first aid service.

Feature Details:

- The GPS location pinpointing can help you guide yourself back in safety if you are unsure of where you are. The GPS pinpointing feature only uses GPS and not a data connection.

- GPS tracking will show you where you travelled throughout the day.

- Coordinate lookup allows users to search for coordinates within the map bounds in WGS84, decimal degrees (professional feature).

- The Find My Friends feature allows users to track each other in near real-time. With the ability to locate your friends and family while they are skiing, biking or hiking, you needn't worry about getting separated again. This feature requires a data connection to function.
- With pin dropping, you can mark locations that you wish to return to or maybe that you plan to explore later.

- NEW: The run / feature database is a database that contains over 800 entries about places located on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains and will soon be expanding to cover our Spearhead Traverse map. Users can search for a feature, select their choice, learn about the run/feature and then quickly locate the feature on the map.

- NEW: Leaderboards (beta) allow users to automatically upload their GPS tracks to global and friend leaderboards. Metrics such as vertical gained/lost, average speed, time recording, and distance travelled are all recorded. Plans to include prizing soon.

- NEW: Updated emergency screen that includes a map showing the user’s physical location, their location in WGS 84, decimal degrees, their estimated altitude as well as the map-dependent telephone number for the local rescue organization.

- NEW: Map dependent information links. These information links provide access to much needed information such as weather, avalanche forecast and hazard ratings, grooming and lift status as well as webcams.

- NEW: We’ve revamped our GPS recording layout UI, making it easier to recognize active recording. We’ve also included active recording time.

I'd like to see more ski hill maps for other areas. This app also doesn't take advantage of having the data it stores moved to the SD card. On my phone it uses about 3.6 GB of the 32 GB of system storage. It would be nice to be able to select SD card storage in Android in order to reduce how much of the limited system storage it uses. Lastly, in bright sun the map is hard to read because of the white background. I think there should be an 'inverse' option that makes the map reverse colors.

Hey, we're working on a conceptual model for WB - should that prove to be successful and should there be enough demand, we'll certainly move to other resorts. Thanks for the feedback.

I was impresses with the detailed arial map used. Thats why a gave it 3 stars. Otherwise it would be 2 stars as it seems a bit underdeveloped. Features it needs and doesn't have: 1) North up or track up. You can manually rotate the map but with limited usefullness. 2) Live track recording. It only shows your track after you save, not useful for someone exploring the mountain. And the track appears in multi colors which represents what? 3) 3D topography. 4) overlay map on open-source map.

Hello, 1) Tap the GPS pinpoint button to re-orient the map North. 2) You can stop, save and review GPS tracks at any time, and a constant overlay would cover valuable information 3) The GPS track colours represent speed (blue is uphill). 4) This is a map in an app. Terrain is represented by contours. 5) What purpose would the overlay serve?

I've been using the spearhead map for a year now and the map is perfect. Such a great resource, so easy to use and I would recommend to anyone setting off into the spearhead. I've now got the whistler blackcomb map too which looks far more detailed than any other resort map I've seen. Thank you to the developers for taking the time to create such a quality resource.
