Why I liked when I had a choice to upgrade. I don't like the trial. I was cool with any ads that were going to show up on the free version, but this trial thing I don't dig.
Poor method for converting customers to paid version I generally liked this calendar app and was planning to purchase when/if it went on sale. The switch to 7 day trial for the free version without giving existing users more notification, and a possibly a deal to upgrade to the paid version, guarantees a lot of unhappy users/poor reviews and a drop in the number of users. Likely not what you were aiming for. I have already switched apps but there may be time to save other users.
Best calendar out and nice widgets to match. There is learning curve. Don't let the bad ratings fool you. When you purchase the real version you have to Uninstall the beta version or it will say the trial is over.
Material Design UI and widgets greatly appreciated! Loving the design. That's why I used this app over default Google/Samsung ones. For springing the Trial thing on us, 2 stars! Trial has expired fix is easy! Disable Google Play as your source for downloads (e.g. Download Apptoide). When Android asks again which Store to use, hit Back and return to Today Calendar app. That's what I use. And Dev, I understand your profit motivations. However $2 I feel is the most you can charge for the app. Make the free version come with ads if you need the profits.
Looks nice, works nice but... I believe you did not take all the steps for transparency. While the fact that it is trial is written in the description, for me at least this wasn't sufficient so I was surprised by the trial. Adding a popup at the 1st run could help with this.
Great app Update. ..turned into a trial after update. Sorry, but that was just foolish. I hated the look of my calender in my S6. This app gives you everything you need and does so tastefully. It also shows holidays and calenders from all your accounts (if checked off).
