About this app

The current paper-based process for the UNJSPF Certificate of Entitlement to prove a retiree’s/beneficiary’s eligibility for continued pension caters to over 70 thousand retirees and beneficiaries located in more than 190 countries. As it uses postal services, the process is very slow and cumbersome.

The App uses facial biometric technology, liveness check and geo-location to submit a Digital Certificate of Entitlement to a secure blockchain. Use of location makes it possible for retirees and beneficiaries paid under the two-track to also use the app.

All user data is stored securely either in the App or in data centres protected by UN Privileges and Immunity. No cloud-based services are used for processing of user information.

The paper-based CE will continue to be an option for the retires/beneficiaries who cannot/ do not want to use the app.

Ratings and reviews

The app functions well but I am only using it for a second time after one full year so I was forgetful of how I was supposed to use it. For example, I didn't know how to take the photograph and scan the document ID. I figured it out, though. It's very useful to have this app available to do this exercise instead of having to do it in paper and then mail it. It is a wonderful invention. The only thing I don't like is that the photograph it takes makes me look ugly and I am not so ugly.

Hard to complete picture taking requirement. Keeps restarting without indicating why. Could have green lines around photo change color, location or intensity to indicate areas of face yet to be collected to image.

This is an absolutely shambolic app. It's so bad, that it took about 6 calls to the help desk to sort the validation error i kept getting. The number of times that I tried using it to get the certification must have exceeded 20. They even asked me to set the App on my wife's phone to see if it would work.....It's not right that the UNJSPF inflicts this piece shyte on retirees. Please let us have an option to upload a jpeg of the certificate.
