About this app

In recent years there has been a huge increase in oral anti-cancer therapies. The oncot’app application is a user-friendly educational tool for healthcare providers. Oncot’app offers you, as a healthcare provider, all the information you need to properly guide patients in their oral anticancer therapy.
Of all products registered in Belgium you will find the brand and substance name, the type of therapy, the current indications, the schedule and the intake instructions. Patient-driven interactions, drug-related interactions, possible side effects and points for attention are also mentioned. You will also find the link to UZ Leuven's patient information and to the package leaflet.
This app was created thanks to the cyztra project of UZ Leuven, in collaboration with the IT department. The project is a collaboration of oncology nurses, hospital pharmacists and physician specialists within the Leuven Cancer Institute (LKI).
The purpose of this application is to contribute to good, responsible and efficient care and services. The application has been prepared with the necessary care for effectiveness, completeness and accuracy. This does not exclude that it may contain imperfections. The app can and may therefore never take the place of the care provider's own thinking and actions.
