Won't refund my $99 dollar deposit. I really wanted to love these bikes. They look neat but their seats are not adjustable, leaving my knees in a lot of strain, also there are no gears so you're stuck with the same uncomfortable high gearing that I'm sure makes cycling easier for beginners but makes it only slightly faster than walking. That coupled with the loud (and outdated) generator they use on the front wheel for the headlamp I just couldn't enjoy my ride. Now I've got $99 plus the $5 in credits tied up. And the app won't refund me. I'd be careful and would try alternative. I've seen a few other bikeshare programs with internal hubs for gears and spindle based generators and adjustable seats. Those just seem like much better options.
Best part you can return it anywhere.kool looking bike
The people who did not read about the $99 refundable deposit are idiots. It says in the app when you input your credit card that vBikes will put a $99 hold on your card. If that's an issue, then DON'T CLICK SUBMIT on the credit card screen. How hard is that to do?
$99 deposit fee that wasn't mentioned until I got to the process payment section. Tried to rent two bikes with it but it would only allow me to rent one bike at a time. Tried to call customer service to get a help or a refund but my call went to a voicemail system. The money placed in the "wallet" is non refundable so even if I get my deposit back I will lose my wallet balance. I prefer to use the another bike company that charges per use but not via a shady app like this one. The idea of it isn't so bad so long as you don't run into trouble but when you do, don't expect good customer service.
Bigges reason NOT to get this app is the $100 deposit. When you find there are no bikes in your area, so you go to get it refunded, it takes them forever to do it. Great concept. Poor execution.
Bike isn't comfortable and it doesn't adjust which leads me to feel unsafe in the fact that my feet can't reach the ground when I stop. The $100 deposit that takes 2-7 business days to return is also a major drawback. I also don't like the fact that you can only rent 1 bike at a time. My first bike had pedal issues, second bike was more comfortable. The ones with attached baskets are confusing in the sense that the holes are too large to hold most things. Main complaint is my battery life that it drinks up...even while not in use. Great concept...subpar execution.
