I think it is finally time to find a better app for family locating and driving insights. The location has always been mediocre, but worse is the constantly losing its ability to actually send the boundary alerts. Notifications are set up properly and haven't changed so when I stop receiving the alerts, it's clearly an app issue but they never seem to get that. What is the point in a family sharing app that doesn't share?! Can't believe we have to pay for this garbage.

Sorry you are having issues with the app. Can we suggest you open a ticket using the in-app help center? Getting a ticket via the app, provides us with the supporting information like phone number, model, OS etc. You can also check back in the help center for response to your issue. I agree with most others. The new updates are awful, especially the location function. It doesn't show real-time location like it used to. I wish I could go back and use the previous version. If this glitch isn't fixed, I may cancel and look for an alternative app to use. **Update 12/18/23. The location function seems to be getting worse. I'll be looking for a new app after the holidays.

We strongly recommend pairing the child phone with the Smart Family companion app to get a better location. You can also go to https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-smart-family-faqs/#location for instructions on how to optimize location accuracy. If you still have issues, can we suggest you open a ticket using the in-app help center?

My 12 year old was able to make a new profile (her phone can have multiple users/profiles) that bypassed all filters and settings. I'm guessing that it sets up a new VPN. But long story short, my twelve year old outsmarted the app and me. ☹️😩 Also, they just have to turn off their location which the app doesn't allow us to force it to come on and it makes the location a very large range and sometimes wildly inaccurate!
