It's either they cannot hear me or i cannot hear them, it's like their mobile reception rubbish I don't know why I still keep trying it they only want our money n not fix the problems!!
Like every other VoIP (SIP) application on the Nexus 4 (Android 5.1.1), it suffers from echo at the called party end - they hear an echo of themselves. I have tried every other app, and currently using (paid for) Bria with my VoIP provider, and it still has the far end echo, making the Nexus 4 almost completely useless for VoIP. I have 'rooted' a Nexus 7 and altered the script of VoIP SIP handler to include AEC (Automatic Echo Cancellation), but without success. Improvements can be seen by using a combined earphone / mic in the headset port. If VoIP SIP apps can work on my old low power XP laptop, why not on my quad-core phone? Perhaps I should buy a Windows phone next time.
Is it possible to call my Virgin home number? Jury still out on this. Don't seem to be able to call my home phone on my mobile via smart phone. Thought it had worked before I went away, but when I tried from a different location I got error message: This call cannot be made, or something similar. Not sure it's technically possible, seeing that is the phone contract I'm using for the call. Would like an answer from a tech savvy person. I can certainly call when I'm in my own home.
Useless Used to work fine, despite the call quality never being the best. Now it's useless. Type in number, press dial and then all you get is a circle going around and around. Please sort it out Virgin.
Works most well most of the time but regularly stops working This app works well most of the time but ... it regularly stops working and will only restart after uninstall and reinstsll. Not sure whether it is when a new version is released but it is hugely irritating and makes it unreliable. If it works it is great for when you have wifi but no mobile or else want to save mobile contract minutes. It suffers from the problems of al IP telephony of slight lag.
Would be great, if it didn't keep failing unpredictably. A nice app to have when away from home, provided of course that you have decent WiFi access. Its defaults are well chosen, warning you when you are about to make calls outside your phone plan. A useful addition to your home Virgin plan. Or, rather, would be a useful addition if it didn't keep failing. That's its problem: when you most need it, it stops working. It has happened to me many times.
