Not all channels are available on the app, some just not available, BBC makes you go to iPlayer. When you pick some channels the playback is patchy with green screening and audio loss. Sound sync is terrible, I have just listened to a whole persil add while watching a sky TV add. Unusable. VM, you need to do better and the app ratings show it.
App is good. AS LONG AS ON WiFi. Without WiFi the app really serves. I function. That's the main issue with it as it would be great to use on 4G. Also the guide layout makes it hard to see what's on next. Would be good to be able to see a grid layout or if not possible then when you click on a channel that it shows you the next xx hours of programmes? It allows me to watch my own recordings which I like but again restricted to when I'm on WiFi. Think with 4G most people would give a much better score so would suggest that Virgin address that quickly
Updated my browser on laptop which is recommended. And low behold i am locked out as the app now thinks i am on a different computer. Cant go back to old browser. I have used my allotted 2 devices. Now no tv no use what so ever. Good when it works bit s#!t when not. O well i will have to wait 30 days.
Still haven't managed to actually watch anything via the app. If I'm in the house I have the tv. If I'm out of the house I haven't yet found a show I can download (including virgin exclusives) to watch on the move where wifi isn't available (most places). For what I'm paying I expect a certain level of functionality for catch up services which neither the TiVo box nor the app supply. The only good thing being provided by virgin is the broadband. And I'm starting to wonder if that's worth this level of crappiness in their other products.
Update 20th May 17 - why the hell do I need to log in every time I open it There are a number of elements which frustrate me. TVGuide is slow a laborious to us, if you press back it forgets what time you were on and then you have to go back to the time in the future you specified. Highly annoying. What ever happened to gestures and making an interface simple and use
What's the point of having this app when you can't even watch your tv package for e.g movies they can't play on phone everything works apart from certain channels this is a bit disappointing as I've paid for a tv package this app states TV ANYWHERE well I can't watch what I'm paying for. Please allow to play movies on phones otherwise this app is completely no use to me
I am on my home wifi and it tells me i am not on the same network!!!! And with my iPad too?? Very poor i was told by virgin that is better then Netflix! Sorry netfilx is king and 6 users on one account were virgin is 2? Money talks and BS walks So when my contract comes to a end bye bye TV No Were
