Terrible. Slow to respond. Today's ticket hidden in the middle of all future tickets. Tickets don't fit on the screen. Bring the old app please Please fix the long loading time for tickets
Updated review: interface is better but there is one significant regression:mobile tickets no longer work. There is no way to activate. This app bears a remarkable resemblance to Trainline so I assume development is outsourced to them; if it works in their app why not in this one? Train inspectors just shrug and tell me how much they hate the app.
I used to love the Virgin trains app and now it's a glorified train timetable. It refuses to let me buy a ticket. I've contacted the Live Chat and tried everything they suggested but to no avail. Their last piece of advice was use the website (which is tiny tiny on my phone screen) - very unhelpful.
Major flaw in the new app is that you cannot access and screenshot expired tickets when needed for delay repay. Virgin customer service assure me it is OK to screenshot the confirmation email with the reference number. However, though this might be OK for Virgin, it is useless for other operators who need a copy of the ticket. I travel every week, so make a lot of claims. I will now no longer be able to get my money back when my conecting train is late or cancelled if I keep using this app. The old app was great. Sorry Virgin, this was not thought through properly.
Updated app is awful. A step backwards. In track journey can no longer see the progression of the train prior to start to the searched start station. This was very useful for seeing where delays were, and if the train is delaying more or less, and where it actually is. Please bring this back?
This app seems to be another money making scheme for Richard Branson. This is the 3rd time I have had to purchase another ticket to travel, despite having already paid. The app always seems to crash right at the moment the tickets need to be checked and despite showing the email confirmation, with my card details, you get some jobsworth insisting they can't do anything about it and a new ticket has to be purchased. Looking at the reviews it seems that there's a lot of issues, and your telling me that Virgin staff aren't aware of this? I would've given this app no stars but allowed to do so.
