What a disappointment!!! The old app needed some upgrade but this is certainly not it. I have no problem finding my trains but when paying it's rubbish. Virgin flight club membership number is not retained (the old app retained it), my card details are not being retained even though there is tick box to supposedly retain this info. Frankly I would rather have the old app back
A disappointing step backwards. Features I miss: 1. The ability to refresh the departure board/live train times, I have to go back and then enter again. 2. The live train times doesn't remember my previous selections. I have to enter the departure and arrival stations every time I open the app. 3. Tickets open to the barcode not the digital version of the paper ticket. Perhaps useful if the majority of the stations used the barcode, but they don't. 4. The ticket screen doesn't show my seat reservation. I need to flick between a few screens, rather than just open the ticket. 5. It takes notably longer to open. 6. It takes notably longer to recognise and download tickets I've bought.
Something of a retrograde step. Key information, such as applicable train details for a particular ticket, has been dropped. Used to be a valuable travelling companion, now just baggage. The main point of the previous app was to provide high fidelity situational awareness during journeys. This no longer appears to be a priority for Virgin.
Used to be good, it's sucks now. Doesn't remember past journeys or stations you have to enter this every time. When you use the live trains feature it doesn't show the times of the individual stops only the original station and the final stop and you can no longer click another station to access it's board, which was useful when planning a journey with connections. Overall app is pants which is disappointing because it was so much better and easier to use before.
I have always been a huge fan of the Virgintrains app, talking many people in to downloading it for themselves. This last update is a real disappoinment. The dashboard is super ugly, the ticket selection is messy (what was wrong with the ticket prices horizontally & the journey duration for each option freely available on the same screen?), the selection process hangs and the m- ticket has lost its identity. Why spend so long promoting something to then change? Is there a way to have the previous version?
1. Please remember Nectar car number!!! Not to let me input every single time! 2. please support choosing open return when searching for tickets (I hate to put a return time when all I'm buying a open return ticket)
