If you experience any problems with a new version. Try to uninstall before installing again. It is also a good idea to contact us by visiting www.kartapps.no. Negative ratings in Play Store alone does not lead to a better app.
Norgeskart is a free app originally created by the developer behind the firm Kart & Apps AS. Kart & Apps has now been acquired by Asplan Viak Internet AS which will continue the work. Paid content and functionality might become part of Norgeskart in the future in order to ensure further development. We beg understanding for the fact that this app is still under development and that we're not able to test it for all types of devices.
Please visit www.kartapps.no or www.avinet.no to see what we can do for you when it comes to developing mobile and web based map solutions.
This version has been tested on a device with Android 4.3
-Maps for Norway: Topographical, sea and orientation.
-Map layers for Norway: Avalanche awareness, ski pistes, sea depth and more

-Export of POIs and tracks to GPX.
-Retrieve exact height of POIs.
* If you experience "Unknown Error" during pre-caching of a map, this is probably caused by too many request over a short time towards the server of the Norwegian mapping authorities. We will fix this is a later version.
* People that do not find Norgeskart in Play store should check that their content filter is not set to "Everyone". It must at least be set to "low maturity".
*There has been reports of problems with the GPS on HTC One S and HTC Desire C. Not sure if this is fixed as I do not have access to any of these models.
*There is a limit of 10.000 tiles per day per IP-address which is handled by the servers of the Norwegian Mapping Authorities. If someone else has been given your IP-address this day, they might have used up your limit. The IP-address of your mobile phone might change during the day due to dynamic IP.

Tell us if you meet Santa!
We make great, interactive travel guides.
To make our guides we use the content that is freely available. Open content sites like Wikitravel, Wikipedia, World66 and Openstreetmap are among the best resources for any traveler. Our mission is to make that content relevant for you. So we mix and mash and annotate - and we distill great, relevant travel guides out of it.
We like open content. In fact some of us were involved in World66, one of the first open content travel guides on the web. Triposo's travel guides are very much a re-mix of open content out there.
Currently we're using content from: Wikipedia, Wikitravel, World66, Open Streetmaps, DMOZ and Chefmoz
We're big fans of these projects. If you stumble across some inaccurate information in this guide, we would appreciate it if you correct it on the web site of these projects.

* Offline Augmented Reality in Norway *
See what's near you where you travel in Norway: Mountains, Lakes, Places, Buildings, etc. You don't even have to be nearby Norway: You can manually set your location to a place in Norway to pretend you are there. Decide if you want to see places nearby, or famous cities around the world.
Works everywhere: By the sea, in the mountains, in the city. Without the internet, without coverage.
Turn the phone sideways to view on the camera screen the places that are nearby. Take a picture of what you see, and send it by email, or post it on facebook, directly from the App!
You can also add your own places!
In Sight Norway is also an altimeter, speedometer and also estimates the distance you've traveled. Choose between metric (km, meter) or imperial (miles, feet) units.
All data is built into the App, so you don't need internet. You only need internet when you use the map or send a picture on email or post it on facebook.
Select between the following map types: Standard, Satellite, Hybrid, High Resolution and Sea Map. High resolution maps and sea maps are provided by the Norwegian Mapping Authority.
In Sight Norway relies on the compass and GPS of your device. Best results are achieved if you are outside.

The app can also display a map, where tops whitin a radius of aproximately 60 km are marked. A blue marker means that there are related hiking blogs at Norsk fjellforum, and you can open these blogs directly from the app (though most of them will be in Norwegian). The app is available in English and in Norwegian.
(Do you also have a hiking blog? You can add it to the list by registering it at http://www.fjellforum.no).
The app uses offline data from several different sources, in total more than 10 000 Norwegian hills and mountains. You can choose to see markers for all tops, only above 1000 meters, or only above 2000 meters.
Offline data menas that the app will also work whithout an Internet connections, but with a few exception: You need Internet connection if you want to download new maps and lists of blogs. These will be temporary stored on your device, and consequently work partly offline later. You also need Internet connection the first time you are starting the app, so it can do a piracy check. A new check of this will be done at least every third month.
The first time you are running the app, it may need 1-2 minutes to prepare its data source.
Want to test before your buy? Check out the free apps "The 7 Mountains of Bergen" and "Norwegian Cities and Villages". They show different data, but work in a similar way as the Norwegian Hiking Compass.
