I thought they didn't make indie games like this anymore First, this is that rare totally free game. Don't be put off by the IAP label - it's entirely voluntary (donate only). The game itself is a twist on miners like Motherload - instead of valuable minerals being deep, they're further out in all directions. Think of Mines of Mars meets Asteroids. Nicr touches like voice-acted recordings also work to put this above and beyond most "dev practice" games on the market.
This game is definitely what I expected from a free game. It was quite fun to play, though short, and made me happy when I was playing it. Ran into a big where I was repairing my ship and mid repair I upgraded my ship. The health displayed as about 1/8 of max, yet as soon as I got hit it went to just about 100% instantly. Really my only complaint.
Fix it, fix it, fix it, pleaaaaase. Overall it is a great game, however asteroids take way too much energy to destroy and if you get even touched by a space pebble your just dead. I don't know if that was what you were going for here, but it would be great if you could change how much damage the asteroids do. Also, I don't know if this was intentional, but every time you die it takes half your money away no matter how much you have. Otherwise this would be a 5 star game.
Difficult to Progress The game seems to work fine, overall. However, asteroids take way too much energy to destroy, and they often accelerate to a speed at which it's impractical and dangerous to chase down. Also, most asteroids destroy the ship on impact, even with a full hull and energy. These issues combine to make space mining not worth the effort at the very beginning of the game, thus negating the appeal. It doesn't seem reasonable enough to allow for suspension of disbelief.
Excellent game. The fact that it's not like all the thousands of other games on the play store really made it superb. The ads were non-intrusive and there was actually some sort of story. Only things I'd wish for are more ship upgrades and Freeplay.
A fun asteroid game for Android. The difficulty is well balanced and there's no real feeling of needing to grind for upgrades. An expert could probably complete all but the last mission without bothering to upgrade, while a neophyte should be able to complete the game if they max the upgrades.
Thank you all for continuing to enjoy my game!
As requested I’ve made some changes.
Ship tweaks (mainly to turning speed)
Brief recovery time after damage
Zoom out when moving fast
Minor Ad changes
