Use it offline for free
If you don’t have access to an internet connection (Wi-fi or data), you can still transact with no extra costs. M-Pesa App works offline, for free! You only have to give SMS permissions

It’s secure
You can use FINGERPRINT or FACIAL ID to log in, or authorise your transactions through M-Pesa app. The M-Pesa 4 digit PIN can as well be used!
This is the only official and authorised App for accessing your M-Pesa account in Tanzania (GSMA Mobile Money certified). Vodacom Tanzania cautions customers against downloading or attempting to use of any other App that purports to offer easy access to M-Pesa.

In 2021 I wrote this app was great, I've since deleted that post as this app has become garbage. It's always some type of connectivity issue, and the best is when you send someone money, there's always a issue, but somehow the system will definitely take your money then you have to wait 72 hours which becomes a week or more. With all the profit money Vodacom earns you'd think you would be able to fix the constant problems.

I'm using Android 10 and the app is failing to install with: "Error obtaining your phone number". CS has escalated in searching for a solution but no news for 2 weeks now. Vodacom Tanzania should RandD with all new Android versions before release to keep up their software. Very disappointing. UPDATE: Verified that I was using Vodacom internet and still not working. The My Vodacom app works fine with Android 10. Has anyone successfully used Mpesa App with Android 10?

Good overall but is not constant with English communications. Still sends messages in Swahili even though I indicated English in the settings. My daughter has the same problem. Update: Now the app is very glitchy. Sometimes the Bundles icon under Services is missing making it impossible to choose bundle details such as Monthly, Daily and etc. plus my app does not let me link bank cards and gives a "failed to link" message. Overall the UI needs stability. Hence the reduction to a 3 star rating.
