The Whistler Dash Cam mobile app will allow you to view real-time video, manage your D28RS dash cam from your phone via Wi-Fi, and download or delete videos from your device.

maybe this works with an iphone, however, does not connect via WiFi with Android. doesn't connect to Whistler app. thank you Whistler for your response. yes, we have accepted all permissions, turned on location services, the camera came with an sd card inserted in the camera: still no success. I have searched the internet and tried all suggestions and options. we decided to return this item.

This will work with any android phone with version 4.1 and above. You will need to make sure you have accepted all permissions, turned on location services in phone, and have an SD card in the camera. If you still have problems you can call customer service at 1-800-531-0004 or send an email to info@whistlergroup.com

I am having the same problem as others--the app will not connect to the dash cam. Connecting...connecting...connecting but never any connection. I will be calling them later this afternoon to see if they might be able to help me with this. The suggestion to an earlier post that I download the latest software probably doesn't apply as I do have the latest software release. I notice Whistler's response to comments here, that's why I'm not totally downvoting. It's nice to know they're listening to their customers. Also the thing gets quite warm; I have to think this can't help but contribute to a short life span. Might be nice if they added some vent holes. Update 1: I talked to tech support at the 800 number. First suggestion was to forget the Whistler wifi network, then reconnect. This did not help. Second suggestion was to deny network access, but the tech could not help me do that with my phone. Not very helpful, obviously someone who didn't know anything reading from a script. I just sent an email to support, if I get nothing helpful back from that the dashcam goes back to Costco.

Since the unit has wifi in a very small space it does get hot but we have seen no long term affects as we have tested in hot/cold environments.

Ive only been able to access the DVR once and that was when I first got it. Had an accident happen right in front of me today and I tried to access the file and it would not connect (those 3 words seem to be in every review Ive read so far). Good thing I bought it at Costco so I can return it and get my money back. It looks nice but I dont recommend it unless you're into collecting paperweights.
