The DMAT stands for The Dementia Mealtime Assessment Tool and has been developed from a paper based audit tool into a software innovation. The DMAT enables carers to assess, select interventions and generate a person centred care plan to support mealtime eating abilities and meal behaviours in people with advancing dementia.

More information and support is also available via the DMAT website

The DMAT works to increase the independence of people living with dementia at mealtimes and improve the quality of life for both the person living with dementia and their carer.

The DMAT benefits include:
• An easy way to identify 37 common mealtime eating problems using the DMAT Initial Measurement Form
• A large and extensive range of evidenced based, practical and cost effective interventions to enhance eating abilities for you to choose from
• Create an unlimited number of care plans. These dementia friendly mealtime care plans can be saved on the DMAT system and easily shared with the care team

It takes on average 10 minutes to create a dementia friendly care plan to improve the nutritional care provided to the person you care for.

There is no other app available that does anything similar to The DMAT so download the app now and test it for yourself.

Please note this app is currently free of charge.
