Wakamoso transcends traditional data gathering; it aspires to create a comprehensive registry of individuals within specific areas, ensuring that each person's voice heard. The platform goes beyond the conventional, scaffolding the work of many organisations in an area, to deliver on the aspirations of the citizens and communities in which they operate. It rewards citizens for engaging with the platform, improving security of tenure, identifies personal growth opportunities, generating both micro-income rewards and pathways to formal employment as well as create a registry of businesses and institutions operating in the area. It democratises data gathering, from infrastructure damage through to reporting cable theft and reporting GBV. It creates community participation by expressing and protecting the community interests and provides tenants an easy mechanism to engage with the community. It allows policy makers to better understand the needs and challenges within their district, providing detailed data insights on which to base service delivery decisions as well as use this data to guide all the players in their ecosystems to collectively add value to the community and to themselves.
