Rarely do I leave reviews. This is an exceptional piece of software. It respects the users' intelligence and exposes all of the settings and options so that you can use the software how YOU see fit. It is the antithesis of modern designs that hide everything and those that force a unified experience on everyone. Instant control, very responsive, simple to set up and use, solves a major headache. Uses HTTP so that traffic can traverse VLANs and does not require mDNS/UPnP which are ridiculous.

Foobar2000 is running on a homebrew, no-display micro PC that's stashed in a closet and serves music to the audio system from the NAS. I installed FoobarCon on a dedicated tablet that's wall-mounted in a convenient location, so I never have to go anywhere near the computer. It just works, period, and has for several years.

This app easily connected to my PC over my wifi network, and has a sleek, powerful feature set. I like how the album art is clearly shown for each track being played (and thumbnail album art in libraries/playlists). Works well for me. My growing library is all Flac tracks ripped from CDs that I buy for this purpose; beats the snot out of 320 kbps compressed audio like Spotify very high
