Very useful to see printed newspaper on entire screen. Would've given five stars if app offered choice of the less expensive edition that doesn't include DC local. This cheaper option is called the national edition, but seems the only way to get it is to cancel, then signup again on computer.
WP took a decent app for reading the e-replica and broke it. The old versions let me open most articles without a wifi connection, the newest app now won't open most articles without one. Also, after downloading an edition while online, if I go back later when offline to read it sometimes it won't load; I just get the spinning icon. Sometimes it might load after several minutes. I don't see the value in being able to download an edition if you can't read it when convenient regardless of when you are connected.
I am really upset that the Washington Post is trying to force me onto their new app. It reminds me of Flipboard and I don't like Flipboard. So I keep getting messages telling me I need to upgrade my subscription to keep using this wonderful classic app. It actually reads like a newspaper which is nice.
I'm upset. Google ripped me off. I paid an annual fee, and now I can't use my Washington Post apps. The newsstand app stinks.
$50 extra a year to get decent ("classic") UI? Which is still not as good as the NY Times app's UI? How about no.
I have been using this app quite often for the past 8+ months. I haven't had many problems with it. It's easy to use and navigates well.
