With Tap Log it is easy to maintain a record of statistics such as work tasks, weight, drinks or anything else you want to keep track of. Categories are customizable and allow you to generate well-formatted log entries in seconds of quantities, text notes, gps locations, and more. You can even log directly from the home-screen with home-screen widgets.
Event categories are set up in advance to minimize the interaction required to log events as they happen in real-time. A set of charts are included that include daily sum, average, min, max, time of day, streak, and more.
Tap Log has been used to track mood, habits, calories, coffee intake, water and alcohol intake, height, vitamins, basic workouts, and much more. Apart from health and fitness, people use Tap Log's GPS and e-mail features for law enforcement, trucking mileage, expense tracking, and real estate logging. Tap Log helps some users run their small businesses.
Tap Log makes it easy to log quickly so you can focus on more important things in life.

Database transfers:
The easiest way to transfer databases is to purchase and use the backup service, but you can also transfer it manually using the following instructions. Options for manual export can be found in App Settings -> Miscellaneous
How to transfer a database from OldPhone to NewPhone:
1. On NewPhone, open Tap Log and export the DB
2. Locate the NewPhone TapLog directory (either on phone memory or SD card)
3. On OldPhone, open Tap Log and export the DB
4. Locate the OldPhone TapLog directory and copy it
5. Paste the TapLog Directory from the OldPhone over the NewPhone TapLog directory
6. Open Tap Log on the NewPhone and import the DB

Not useful I hoped that tis app would allow me to track multiple variables AND display them together. The entire point of tracking many variables on the same app is to see correlations. If the only way to see graphs or visual representations is separately, then individual apps for each variable with more functionality tailored to that activity (e.g. exercise, sleep, food) do the same task only better.

Spoiled a Great App! Loved the App, truely one of a kind. Unfortunately you have to continue to purchase pieces at a time. I understand your desire(maybe even need) for recompense. You really should do it like most... Sell usage of the full app with a one time fee and offer a free trial version with advertisements on the later to get a small continual Revenue.

Getting Better The ability to add custom colors and icons would be my next request. Your icon packages do not meet my needs and the color palette is not appealing. The addition of extra tiers is a big plus. Manual & Auto backup is not working. Showing error with Google play.

Much improved from earlier versions. Graphs are still a bit odd, not configurable. Would be great to have a way to import data from a CSV file. Also, there seems not to be Android Wear support, which would be very convenient to have.

Taplog gets better & better. A few years ago, after extensive trial and error I concluded that Taplog was best Quantified Self tool on Android. Self tracking has become even more popular since then but Taplog still the best. It's simple, adaptable & user friendly. Thanks.

Fantastic, but ridiculous pricing I've searched for months for such an app, and just found this one by accident. Very powerful and easy to use. However, in app purchases for full functionality are offensively expensive, thus I've deleted it!

Missing a time-interval specialized button type. The payment model is a bit annoying (what if I want to create my own icons?) but understandable
Would buy the paid version if I knew how. Sent an email to the one listed on the website but it came back undelivered. Need to be able to have multiple users all using the same folder activity setup without having to have each one create them all on their phones manually maybe via some sort of profile or config file added to their phone. The pricing for icons etc is out of line though. But I would pay for customization as mentioned above.
Great for recording exercise Can even group various exercise buttons together under one button, so can see charts for individual exercise or for all exercises. The accumulated chart is also useful for checking whether you are reaching goal. Easy to record. Easy to analyse. Motivational. Thanks. Is it possible to reset accumulated to 0 for next goal?
Very Easy To Use This app's user defined buttons & widgets makes tracking really easy. It seems customizable enough to suit most people's needs, and has expansions to help out those who need more.
Easy to use w/charts & export This is a simple logger that tracks, events, frequencies, txt notes, etc. Shows several charts: daily, weekly, mo., time of day histogram. I've actually used this for at least 3 years and the dev has made good improvements. I wish it could also show stats like avg frequency, median, mean, st.dev, etc. Export to csv if you need to track multi-var correlations.
A great app I use this versatile APP often. The latest updates are good improvements. There are features I would like to see added, but no other APP comes close. I have not tried the in-app purchases or the NFC features.
Manual export not working Bought this a long time ago. Now manual export is not working ("Play store error").
Initial review I have only used this tool a few days and so far I'm very impressed. Love the touch button record. You have some nice options for entry, might I recommend a toggle timer option to record the length of time spent on an item.
Simple & Effective Does what it should do. Widgets are very useful. Would be nice to have the option to have configurable shortcut quantity buttons that show up after tapping the widget.
Pay AGAIN? If I purchased this app before it had in app purchases do I have to pay again to unlock the features that I had before?
Perfect for tracking my stuff I wish it was a bit cheaper as I would fully buy it. So far using the free but awesome version.
Simple, free version does what I need This is close to the app I would have liked to have written myself.
The self, quantified. I wanted to write my own logging app, then I found yours - and it's gui is just as I had envisioned! What's nice to have is a possibility to add a date and time dialog to a logging event, e.g. when I did something yesterday but forgot to enter it. Another feature is option to undo a logging if I misclicked. And as a premium feature you could add persistent cloud backups where one can also see graphs etc from the desktop. There you go! :-)
Pretty nice Pretty nice so far. I'm pretty interested in this domain and haven't found anything else that does this sort of things. So yes, this is something really useful and everything else is rubbish so 5 stars by default. That being said: I want to be able to take photographs (some data is hard to quantify), the continual switching to the entry screen after tapping is kind of silly as well. Oh also timer dialogs.
Reduced functionality rip off You get 1 category level free. Next category ("level 3") is $2. The next after that ("level 4") is an additional $5. Let's say you want to track your medications. If you want to group your medications by type (e.g. Pain Killers category with Tylenol & Alieve as items) you have to pay $2. To further group Tylenol by symptom type (e.g. headaches, cramps) that's level 4 and costs an additional $5. All this was free in the last version!

Two free levels will satisfy the needs of most users, and $2 is fair if you use the app enough to require a 3rd log level. Please share your thoughts if you believe there is a more equitable way to charge for productivity applications. Great app. Would give 5 stars if not for that stupid duplicate button. Don't need it and if you pocket duplicate it takes about a straight hour of deleting to fix the log. Really idiotic feature for an otherwise well thought out app.
Handy Very useful, especially the widgets for quick logging. Would be perfect if you could combine charts, to do some basic correlations/comparisons
Great App Let me tell you, this app is so FREAKING awesome! You can quantify just about any thing you want to keep track off. It also lets you view your logs in a chart view and if you choose to can also export your data to Excel. I use this app to keep track of how many times I pump gas, drink coffee, times I hit the sack. Again really awesome app.
Awesome This tool is great. I wish it had a yes/no tracking option (i.e., did you take your vitamin today?)... and OMG please fix it so we can change the tile colors lol
Glad for the update! Text editing lag is fixed. Good job, dev!

Thanks for the feedback. Also, since you previously inquired, all charts are rendered on the device now. For behavior analysis Tap Log has proven to be a great combination of flexibility and simplicity, allowing for a robust behavior data collection tool. Best if you really want to customize what you track and prefer to export to CSV to complete the analysis. I use Tap Log for collecting direct observation functional assessment data.
Simple and effective The simple design and enormous capacity for customization make this surely the best means to track any life data you can think of. Changes I'd love to see: - Time stamps on the buttons to show when you last pressed them (it would save the user from checking the log) - Lock screen widgets - Button reminder notifications that allow you to record a stat within the notification (an 'Energy' notification could appear and you could then rate your current energy level 1 - 5). - The above feature incorporated into Android Wear - one tap updates on your wrist when prompted would be the ultimate convenience. - Option to prevent jumping to the log screen when you log data for a button: it's a little tedious to have to keep going back if there are several buttons you want to press at one time. - More icons - Capacity to choose colours
Well-considered logging app. Thoughtful developer A great app that makes simple logging functions easy, and also does a growing set of more sophisticated things in an elegant way. The developer clearly thinks carefully about the development of this app (see his site), and has continued to refine this app since I've owned it (about a year). I have great hopes that it will continue to grow.
Love tap log but wish making button widgets was more intuitive. I've done it before, read the blog and still can't work out how this time round.

Go to your home screen and 'long press' on an empty space. If this doesn't work, open your app tray and look toward the top of the screen, there should be a tab for 'widgets' there. Fear the tap! This is the best for logging quick hits of many types. Widgets are super sweet icing on the already delicious productivity cake.
Tremendous app I use it to track bipolar anxiety. It's a life saver.
I already paid for it, but I have to buy extra log levels? No thanks. Fantastic app, but that is very disappointing.

There's no charge if you're upgrading an old database. Please e-mail for details. Sorry for the trouble. Great App Easy to use & understand, does exactly what I need it to!
Nice, simple and intuitive. Have you considered adding tasker support? Would help greatly with input automation.
Works good, and allows quick logging, charting and analysis. Well done!
