I am an Uber driver And was told to download this because its WAY better than Google Maps. I have only been in the metro of my city 4x since moving here in 2004. I was counting on Waze to help me downtown, and get me to my client's faster. It told me on NUMEROUS occasions that I was "there" when it had me driving down alleys and at the BACK of MAJOR Hotels! I had one client that was waiting for me on the front side of the building when Waze told me I was there(I was on the side of it). I don't know why, but it didn't work 4 me
Everyday Routine I was introduced to waze 4yrs ago, i use the app on a weekly basis, even when i dont need it. Waze helps me estimate traffic time and always gives me accurate infomation and the quickest routes. Honestly I recommended this app over any other gps apps out. It even tell you when the police are near. Which comes in handy when you are running late and maybe over the speed limit 😊
WAZE map app... Google Maps is great, WAZE IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I try to always allow "my passengers" (wink*wink) to upload real-time "anything of interest" each and EVERY TIME we're driving, and WE (wink*wink) send in EVERYTHING from vehicles parked on the roadside, to COPS that are hiding or patrolling to get our $. If all the WAZE users participate daily, we're gonna have an even better app that'll keep us safe and INFORMED to ALL road hazards(wink*wink)!!! Please join me and all WAZE users "point out" hazzards!
Is pretty good, but can be zany with side streets Overall, the app does a good job of planning a route, and the traffic awareness is great to have! I have two pet peeves, though (not deal breakers, but it can be frustrating). First, the app will take you on a scenic tour of a neighborhood to avoid some traffic up ahead, but sometimes the time savings (seconds, maybe?) is completely lost in the zig-zag of the detour. Second, the app is sometimes chatty to the point of distraction, and other times dead silent when you really need to know which way to turn.
Not your typical GPS app. I used to be a die hard iPhone navigation app user until my buddy turned me onto Waze. I joined and never looked back. I love the fact it constantly adjusts if it finds a faster route and the fact it's community reporting allows it to be that much more accurate and useful to the operator. Ive used it for about 9 months and I've only ever had one map issue which I reported and they replied to and fixed the next day.
Functional in the day but too bright at night Unfortunately, I use this a lot for night driving and the full black background in v3.x projected no glare from my S5. Now, with the grey, even manually turning down luminosity is not enough to drive without distraction. Thinking I may have to find a new app or revert to Gmaps. I'll grant that there are other improvements like battery consumption and memory footprint. Also improvements on gestures are a must at this point. Other than that good app.
