Review from Desmond George Perera
Best Navigator on Android This is the best Navigator on Android that you can find in the App Store. Gives you live updates on traffic and the maps are just like the Navigators you can get from the shop. Definitely worth the download.
I personally think that waze is a very useful and good apps except for certain aspect which i hope that you could inprover on. For example there are too many step to go before navigation start unlike google map. For u know that waze and google maps are frequently used on grab and uber. On the road we cant simply going step by step before navigation start. And for the loading part ot seems that sometimes it unable to load and we have to keep retarting the apps before usage. I really hope that you could improve on these aspect and i would say that waze would be the best to use. Thanks
Used to be good in 2014, but now seems very buggy. Last thing I need is to be fiddling with the phone while driving. Happened once a month ago (May 2017) and 3 times this weekend (June 2017). Had to pull the battery after rebooting phone twice. (while driving) Need something that just works, not an experiment. Uninstalling after 3 years. Damn shame. I can deal with the stoplight pop-up ads, it's only fair they get to generate income, but when I am trying to locate things on the map and zooming out, the zoom will go back to default and pop up an ad.
Alerts of traffic jams and other issues on the road is good. The app seems to have an issue recognizing the addresses from the events in Google calendar. It keeps asking me to set the address for the planned drives. Google map has no problem finding the same address from the same calendar event. This is frustrating. Another issue is battery consumption. It seems to be very hard on the battery. I'll use it for a short while when there are many turns to do then I'll turn it off. I'll start it up again periodically to see if there are any issues forecast ahead.
I like the app however it seems to shut off randomly while am driving. I put on my Bluetooth so I can hear the directions without looking at my phone by the time I pass a few stops I notice that the app has shut down. This has happened every time I use the app and it's quite annoying. I have to click the waze icon from my home screen to start my navigation again and be rerouted. Another thing is that I cannot see other wazers on the road. I reinstalled, logged out and checked my settings to no avail. So that feature is not working at all. It tells me the number of wazers around me but I actually don't see them on the road. Am the only car on the road. I know that they don't put the wazers on the road at "real tine" due to it being dangerous however I use to see wazers on the road and now I see none.
Normally a 5 star product. However, since I started using a Moto Z, I have had to regularly reboot to acquire GPS - in this app only. I do not have the issue with Google Maps, Sygic or other GPS tools. I can be using Google maps with no problem, switch to Waze, and get an error about not acquiring a GPS signal. Will go back to 5 stars when fixed. Note that this continues to be an issue several months later.
Very good navigation app. It's a little on the cartoon side when compared to Google Maps. It does take to many clicks to report something you want to report. This can cause to much distraction, which does result in me not reporting everything I wanted to because not wanting to deal with the process of it. Overall I am very glad I downloaded it. I use it everyday no matter if I need directions or not. I became Waze Royalty a few weeks ago too :).
