Not a real review yet, but a suggestion I have a N900 Central that I had "retired", but since I'm really low on Google cloud storage, I'm planning on getting it back up and running again. This app looks promising, but I noticed it doesn't seem to support Amazon Cloud Drive in its cross compatibility. Because of their fair pricing, I plan on eventually subscribing to that, to replace Google Drive/Photos. So this is a request to please add that functionality to this app. I'll edit this to reflect my feelings on how everything works once set up.
WD My Cloud My Cloud device is easy to setup and has support on Windows , Apple, and Android. Just few times navigating through the app they provide for Android and was able to use comfortably. I had a trouble accessing it from outside my home network so had to contact support who advised to make sure http and https ports access to my home network is not blocked. It happened to have port 80 which is http is blocked. It tried different ports till I found some which were open then I used one of them and was able to solve
Very handy app The ability to view my files from anywhere is great. Sometimes a bit slow to load, but generally works. I had to assign the My Cloud a static IP for the app to work since every time the address changed the app stopped connecting to the My Cloud. Since then, it's connected every time. Worth a download to get the most from your NAS.
nice cloud app Works like it should. Can take some time to load pictures/folders. Wish we could organize a bit more like sort according to name/date when viewing photos by album. Also wish you could view all photos by album just in a certain folder without having all the pics on the harddrive come up. But overall good app - does what its supposed to. Backup is great. Browsing could be a bit better but still really good.
Thumbnails Definitely wish I could get a thumbnail view if my Public Videos folder. And wish we could load individual folders like the MyBook app. This app works. But with a few tweaks, it would be perfect. Having a thousand photos load at once is rather tasking on a phone. Let alone not really being able to tell what each video is unless you open it.
Needs work It has some good points. My wife has an iPhone, and their version doesn't even backup automatically. At least this app does that. Setup is easy as long you have everything connected correctly. My main gripe is browsing the cloud can be improved with giving you the option of viewing the images by thumbnails. Also, when I try to view the images individually, it says I can't access the files.
