Severe weather alerts for your exact location. Storm Shield gives you storm-based alerts for tornado, hurricane, flood, thunderstorm, winter storms and other life-threatening weather events via voice and push notification.

Storm-based alerts help reduce false alarms by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. County-based alerts can result in false alarms, warning you when your location in the county is not within the threatened area.

I paid for this app a few years ago. I was able to set location manually then. I can't now. I'm missing important alerts because of this. I don't like to keep location on on my phone because it uses too much battery plus I live in an area where we don't show up on Google Maps or on the post offices area. Google has their information wrong and we're having a hard time getting it fixed. Before when I could set my location manually I was able to get alerts for my area. I just missed an important thunderstorm warning because of this flaw. They need to restore the ability to set location manually. Otherwise this app is worthless.

This app is fantastic, when it works. I got a new phone, and when I tried to set my alerts and locations, all I keep getting is we can't find your location, and when I try to enter it manually I get the same message. I am more than willing to pay the subscription, but not it it doesn't work. I cannot find a way to contact anyone about this and I find it extremely frustrating as I see this app as crucial when it comes to weather alerts. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall several times with the very same results. I also have a NOAA weather radio, and most times I get the alert from Storm Shield before the radio goes off. Update: I was able to contact support and fix the issue!

It's a great weather app, but I am having the same issues as the recent reviews. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S10Ee. It won't find current location, or when I type location in, pinpoint, and tap "Set Location", the app does not do anything. This app is useless until an updated version is available that fixes these issues to make it usable on older devices.

What's new

Under-the-hood maintenance items are included in this release due to required code library changes by Google for the Android operating system. It's possible some older Android devices that are no longer supported may experience issues when trying to use the map.
