ITS LIVE ITS ACCURATE This thing is on point, the radar detects rain as green, snow as blue, has a legend, and can view weather everywhere across American territories, and everwhere that directly concerns the western hemisphere. Now I think it actually pulls up weather all over sphere so double check this. As far as installation, quick, also does not continue to run in background if stopped from settings to free up memory. It will stay active in background if needed. Case and point, it's live, and accurate in detail.
Best Radar App Ever I've had NOAA Hi-Def Radar for both Apple and Android, and it is my absolute go-to weather app. I blows all the others away...pun intended. It provides conditions as recent as 2 minutes and being in Kansas, the storm info feature is invaluable. I don't want all the fancy features of other apps. All I want is the info NOAA provides. This is indispensable to me.
Excellent weather radar app! I am an avid weather person...storm spotter and chaser. This is one of the no nonsense radar apps there is. I love it. Gives you fast radar with lightning and warning boxes. I have a lot of radar/wx apps...some I've paid over $10.00 for and this one is probably my favorite now. Only thing lacking is it does not offer an option to display watch boxes and edit warning box colors.
Time-consuming to get going Cryptic button labels, lack of instructions, and non- instantaneous support resulted in several hours to get this thing going, and it's still not set up very well. It looks like it might be pretty good. UPDATE: After becoming more familiar with this app I like it a lot.
This app is the best and only choice for quality weather monitoring. I have had this app on my iPhone, iPod touch, various Android devices and now on my Nexus. You can toggle between base reflectivity or satellite cloud coverage overlays. You can view these over the map of your choosing, whether you want to just view your local area or a pull out and see the continent. You can choose a map to include city, state and streets, or just go to the hybrid view which is like overlaying real time weather over Google Earth. You can pause or play weather for a past period of time and even change the speed of the playback. Add weather tracks or even lightening strikes. Weather you are concerned citizen wanting to see what weather is coming your way, or a meteorologist attempting to identify possible hook rotation patterns, this is the app you want to use. I am highly pleased and highly recommend this app.
Good start but works better on iOS The bad *Missing the ability to see a text format of Nws current weather conditions, special weather statements, watches, and warnings. The app also places my home location as the geographic center of the state, which is 175 miles from my home. Also it only shows about 1/4 of the lighting strikes that the iOS app does in a side by side comparison. The good *The radar itself works great, show timely accurate visuals and storm tracks. Displays up to date watches, and warnings. 5 star with minor improvements.
Now also shows Hurricane and Tropical Storm Forecast Tracks, Lightning Strikes, Storm Track arrows with Hail information and Wildfires with firefighting updates!
