The White House's "1600" is a new way for kids and playful Americans of all ages to learn about what happens at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. All you need to do is tap "Start" and point your camera at George Washington (on the one dollar bill).
Built through a collaboration with the White House Historical Association and Nexus Studios, the app’s aim is to educate and inspire the youngest Americans to learn more about the White House's role in our democracy. Our hope is that whether it is experienced on a teacher's desk or dining room table, kids walk away from "1600" with a better sense of the institution and its purpose. Not to mention, a smile.
Tip: Move your phone around to explore from different angles, and touch the Oval Office to reveal a surprise.

Great idea, needs more options. I had to Google an image of a $1 bill on my tablet. It's a great idea, but it left allot to be desired. I wanted to see more of the White House, or tap on parts of the house & get a little info. I really hope this is developed more, & more. I don't like having to continuously point my cam at the $1 bill. Great start though... When exiting, try swiping up from the bottom, it should bring up your home button.
Good start, needs lots of work The screen is very sensitive and bonks when you move too much to explore. Goes back to the beginning when you re-engage, frustrating. I don't see children having the patience to stay interested with this level of sensitivity and limited functionality. Keep on upgrading, love the concept!

Impressive for 1 dollar build but.... This app is very cool and educational and graphic effect and animation are also cool. Although should be more options to watch video and story without continually holding camera on dollar bill. Also has delay and glitches.

Very cool! Works perfect & hope it gets expanded Works very well and no issues at all even when holding phone up over 3' from the bill. None of the other issues from the other reviews was able to move around the bill and raise & lower phone without any problems!

Cute, but needs menu Cool implementation. Had a little trouble exiting out of the app on my Google Pixel, since I don't have hardware menu and back buttons, and couldn't get the buttons to appear while in the app.

Great idea..needs work. Very glitch you. I got tired of holding the phone over the bill. I instructions are to explore, but I am not sure how that is possible.

Focus problems I saw this on one of our local shows and thought I would give it a try. I thought something was wrong with my camera but found out I am having the same problem as others. The camera will not focus.
Very Clever! I think it's ridiculous that a reviewer gave this unique app only 3 stars, stating, "kids will like it more". Well, duh! But just because it's geared more towards one demographic than others doesn't mean the app is any less brilliant, and besides, I'm almost 50 years old, and I got a kick out of it!
Needs some work. I think this app is a great start, but it is very sensitive. Also, it is almost impossible to use a dollar out of your pocket, it must be perfectly flat or the app will not detect it.
Very Impressive Kid friendly app which is very educational. Very sensitive when u move your hand too much. Had difficulties exiting out but I like it...
Clever, fun I did not expect much but i was pleasantly surprised. I showed this to some younger kids and they thought it was really cool. Would love more information than was contained.
Very innovative Being able to watch "The White house " come to life was very cool! My 10 year old is going to love it! The education part could be a bit more up beat and interesting. But all in all, job well done!!
It is a neat app, but doesn't have a quit option on my Pixel XL. I have to restart my phone each time I use the app? This is wrong.
Doesn't work for all phones Similar to what some people are experiencing, the camera is blurry wherever I point it. Using an LG V10 running Android 6.0
Needs work It looks awesome, but every time I try to get a closer look, it loses the dollar and starts all over again, I don't want to just get an aerial view, I would like to move around.
Slow, glitchy, and where's the menu button? Whoever ported your app from iPhone needs a reminder that not all Android devices have physical 'home' buttons.
Thank you my Frist Family and The White House staff!! My grandbabies just LOVE this there EYES are so EXCITED!!Thank you again for this opportunity for Our Generation to be able to see THE WHITE HOUSE LIKE this very educated. Thank you for all that you do From The Kennedy Ward Family
Doesn't work yet LG G4 from T mobile on the latest update. Camera is dark and never focuses. Send help!
Doesn't work with my Google Pixel Cannot get it to work reliably on the Pixel. Cannot exit the app without rebooting. Awful!
Broken for Pixel Nuget 7.1 The app doesn't work on my Pixel XL running Android Nuget 7.1 the camera never focuses.
How Cool Is This?! My granddaughter loves this. She is fascinated with the idea that a dollar bill can be used as an animation tool. Frankly, so am I...
Not working on LG G4 When the screen comes up saying point it at a dollar, it's just black. No image is displayed from the camera.
Doesn't work Cool idea but doesn't work on my phone. The camera picture is blurry and dark. Other camera apps work fine.
I like it but whenever I move my camera to get closer it just goes back to scanning my dollar
Blows your mind.... Neat...but it did cost me a buck to get a tour of the White House.
Fun app This was great to use. Shows some of the potential of augmented reality. Would like the next version to also show the interior rooms
ObamaMagic Mr President you will be missed big time. You have raised the bar so high that it may take a century for someone like you to come to the white house.
Keeps losing focus of the dollar bill and starts the narration from the beginning each time.
Adult found playfull But needed more, wanted to go inside. The snowman built by the President and vice was cool. I thought it looked like them
Were good It's were nice I like that you can move up and down left and right and see all. I think that children will like this, I wish the other countries go with this idea to show history is pretty awesome
Didn't work at all Camera won't open at all and app crashes super disappointing
Slow It loaded but got stuck on the black and white one dollar bill.
App doesn't work for me. Camera is dark and blurry and doesn't identify dollar bills.
Won't focus I can't get it to focus on this dollar bill, even in good light. I can't turn on the flash to compensate for the phone's shadow.
Keeps crashing while "building" the white house during the intro. Nice thought thpugh.
Cool I love AR, after people get tired of puking on thier VR headsets, I think AR will enhance our daily lives.
Doesn't work My camera doesn't focus and it is dark, I'm running Android 6 on the Moto G 4 pro
Interresting Phone overheats in a few minutes. I guess you have to stay at the Whitehouse if you're going to be President.
Cool but limited, would be nice if you could go into the rooms of the White House like a real tour.
Cool Nice app but doesn't let you in the white House. Disappointed
