About this app

Children are astonishing and unique. They enter this world with inborn curiosity and they are creative from the very beginning. They are also able to develop their creativity throughout their whole lives. But only if they are encouraged and stimulated to do so. This is in fact the major reason why we created this course: to offer ideas and encouragement for raising creative children.

Parents all over the world think about how best to help their children succeed in life. In life in which every day is different and in which children daily encounter new and different challenges. This course offers guidance on how to encourage, develop and support the child’s creativity, as well as how to reinforce the talents with which the child was born. Childhood is not always simple. Creativity can make it much easier - and more fun.

This course will help you to understand what creativity is, to recognize creativity in the child, to encourage and support the child’s natural creativity, to avoid things that stifle creativity and to encourage children to hold onto their creativity throughout their lives

Parents are their children’s best supporters and teachers. They know the children better than anyone else does. For this reason parents play the most important role of all in raising children. This is also true of guiding creativity. No one else can do it better than you.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Creative Parenting – Creative Children.

And finally, about the authors 😊:

Hello! We are Pia and Jim Solatie, and we are the authors of the "Creative Parenting, Creative Children" audio course.

We come from Finland. Finland has the best school system in the world, is one of the most innovative countries in the world, and also has the happiest people in the world – according to the World happiness report by the United Nations.

We both have completed our masters degree from the Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland. After a 20 years career in marketing research and creativity training, we have recently focused fully on our great passion; developing the next generation of innovators and thinkers.

This is why we would like to share you our thoughts on creative parenting and creative children. It is about helping and supporting children to discover the power on creativity in each of them and how to apply it in the real world challenges.

Jim is also an active writer and is an author for books about creativity, innovation and insights. He is also a co-author of the book “Creative Child” which has been published nationwide in China.

Additionally we both are producing Dibidogs, an award-winning TV-animation. Dibidogs has been co-created with children, and has reached more than 50 million viewers. The second season will highlight Finnish early childhood education and offer engaging experiences and learnings for the whole family.

The latest of our efforts is the Dibi Academy. Dibi Academy has just opened its doors in Beijing and it will offer Finnish early childhood education hobby lessons for children under the age of 5. Learning through play in a familiar group, emphasizing children’s curiosity, discovery and problem solving are of key importance at Dibi Academy.

We are very happy to meet you now and we hope you will enjoy our very first podcast, "Creative Parenting, Creative Children".
