Minimal function The battery life of the collar, which supposedly lasts up to 10 days actually lasts me 4 days. I have my base station sitting beside a window away from other devices and obstacles, yet it still consistently tell me my dog has left his Whistle Zone as he sits on the sofa with me. I can only hope that if I ever have to track him the app and collar function (minimally) enough to find him.
Good if you understand it's limitations In areas with decent Verizon 4G, it works beautifully and the battery lasts 10 - 14 days. I always get text alerts if my dog leaves her home zone and I have successfully tracked her every time. I've used customer support and they're very responsive. But, if you get outside proper coverage, you cannot track and the battery dies quickly as the tracker continuously searches for a data signal. So, not the best product if you take your pet camping. Also, the collar clip and charger connection are a bit fiddly.
It's kinda fun to have And could be useful especially if you want your dog to exercise to lose weight. But it's buggy. Used to notify me when the battery is low a couple of times. Now.. Once. And if I forget, the battery could be dead for days before I notice. So there's that. But like I said, fun to have. But no GPS, which would be very useful.
Great easy to use Pet tracker works great though I'm not sure why people post hardware reviews in the software section. My tracker had some problem with battery life until they replaced it with one that lasts 3-4 weeks easy. The app is easy to use and has nice layout. There are always bugs that need fixed just like any other app. I use S6 so not many performance issues here. Accuracy of GPS has always been within a few feet for me and usually notifies within 5 minutes of leaving zone.
Good stuff but needs more Great app. I could see this being 5 star material. Just a few tweaks: 1-Multiple zones for dogs that go places. 2-More customizable notifications like custom ringtones for the app, and choosing what channel the notifications go to (currently getting three separate notifications per event...too much). 3-Allowing "babysitters" to have text based access to location/tracking requests. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Great for what I need. I live on a farm and my dogs occasionally run a few miles so it's really useful to know when they leave the yard. All I have to do is request their location and it gives me exactly where they are. The GPS collar works on Verizon 3g so sometimes if they are below a hill it might not find their location right away. The only downfall it has is the battery life on the collar. It's only lasts two days. If it were at least a week it would be glorious.
