Sound Realms is an awesome company, trying to do something really special by resurrecting some classic phone based games. As a fan and collector of gamebooks, I think this is awesome. However, the app itself is pretty bad. The interface is sluggish & I've found it almost impossible to actually download the games to my device for offline play. I've tried on my phone and my tablet, on wifi and 5G and nothing seems to work. They get to anywhere between 4 and 47 percent and then just stop working.

Really has a lot of potential. The quality of the recordings is great, but the overall visuals are not. The image quality is poor and sizing is a mess. Because one must use the visual side of the app there is a disconnect. Why not handsfree? There are no options to add cc, so you must stare at the distorted image. It takes away from the narrators' lovely performance. On the one hand I want to love this because I love audio books and RPG , but it seems like it needs work.

It has a basic yet well crafted combat system. The small sound effects and the narrators voice enhanced my experience. I learned about this project on the drive-thru RPG site while looking up solo RPGs. I strongly suggest downloading it and taking it for a spin in a waiting room with earbuds in. It takes its time to storytell. So it plays slowly to its benefit so it is a great at consuming time in such a situation. When the action hits it is more natural due to the build up of the story.
