hashtree - secure S3 backups

Hashtree is a open source, cross platform and secure method of backing up your data. It utilizes Amazon S3 style storage platforms to provide backups of any size.

All data including indexes are encrypted and salted locally using a DARE (Data At Rest Encryption) algorithm. All files are de-duplicated which means you will only ever upload one copy of a file.

Files are also hashed which means if they are modified you will be alerted.

Snapshots are taken which means you can restore older versions of files using the snapshot function.

Files are never deleted on the server, they are just omitted from the file system structure in the snapshot - these files remain in the database and this means they will not be uploaded again at a later date.

This also means that if you backup files frequently the modified copies will be kept frozen in time and can be restored later.

It is feature complete:
-> Push snapshot
-> Pull snapshot
-> Initialize repository
-> List snapshots

You will need your own S3 endpoint with access keys. Please contact me for assistance if you want to purchase storage. The pricing is $1 USD per month per GB.
