I use version 4.0.4 on a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0, or Lollipop. This app serves a few different functions. It’s more or less a ‘lite’ version of its mother website of the same name. It is a very extensive dictionary, not only for English, but also a pretty large suite of other languages as well, including: Spanish, Chinese, German, French, et cetera. It also can provide synonyms for given words. The function I used more than that, however, is the translator. I used this application alongside a Spanish Course, so it was a great help to have a nice English-Spanish translator wherever I went. It can also translate between all of its different languages as well, however, so it can have a very broad use for many different types of users under different circumstances. The layouts are also very simple to comprehend and use, I’d argue that the Android version is a bit simpler, however, that’s not to say the iOS counterpart has a confusing layout. They’re both very clear and concise. In summation, this application is both very simple in function and extremely useful in practice. I would highly recommend it to a student of another language, or one who likes to travel.
Useful This app offers you a wide range of vocabularies which can rend the quality of your speech highter. I don't have any critique and I personally think that this app can teach students how to manage a conversation without forcing theirselves to include some new words that have been translated from their native language.
Super Helpful This app is great and way more reliable than translators. It helps not just with definitions (of words and useful terms and phrases), but also has conjugations. This app has saved me on French assignments so many times. :)
Great app Not only does it provides simple translations, it shows how the words are used in a sentence. It also has a forum where people translate idioms and answer all sorts of questions. Overall a very thorough app that's fast and easy to use.
I love it but.. I love wordreference! But it really would be useful if it have an option for offline translations. There're times when there's no Internet but I especially need to translate some words... Yeah I can use others dictionaries but they aren't as good as wordreference.
"ad"horrible Now, the latest version is infested with ads.. So much so that the application became unusably slow.. and on top of that, you can't even zoom in with your fingers, since the ads clutter all the visible areas, not to mention the added slowness when you do that.. Also, the Premium version is $5/year. The application lacks any professional features. At the most I would pay a buck/year.
