Very poor integrity for a company. Clearly makes most of its money by swindling trial subscribers by hoping they will forget when their trial ends (and never notifying them of the impending end date). I was not a fan of the services provided nor the user interface. I did not receive prompt responses to my questions and I did not feel there was any value added beyond what I could find (and already have found) through personal research. Far better uses for $100+ per month.
I cancelled my subscription within my trial period and was charged $199 a week later! If there is a customer service number please let me know.
My review is of the paid version during the free trial period. Bottom line, it is not worth the cost to me. The daily modules are fun and hold your attention while teaching you important concepts. However, (as others have reported) this only lasts until the start of week four. Additionally, the modules alone are not worth the price of the subscription. There were also weird typos and one day I had two of the same module. Entering food into the tracker is a bit cumbersome. The barcode scanner did not work. Many foods (even name brand) are missing. You can only add quantities in multiples of 1/4 cup (so no 1/3 cup). If you cook at home a lot you will have to eyeball what you've made, because there is no way to enter a recipe a la MyFitnessPal. There is also some ambiguity in the food "colors". A protein powder I use is listed twice - once as a green food, second as a yellow food. There is also no customization for rate of weightloss/calories consumed per day. Coaching/Group: My group coach might as well have been a bot. She posted one generic thing a day, and folks really didn't participate much. She didn't make much effort to address group members' questions. A small handful of my group members were active, but I definitely felt that I was putting way more in than what I was getting out of it. My goals specialist was nice. We met 1:1 once per week. It would take almost the entire day to message back and forth though. We set goals, but we really did not make a plan to reach the goal. Unlike others, I did not have a problem canceling my trial (note that whether you signed up in app vs on their website makes a difference in how you cancel). Since my goal specialist is responsive, she took care of my cancellation request right away.
The original idea was good, but lead me to believe "results in 16 weeks " and goal setting for December....they have just taken another £80 from my account which I was NOT EXPECTING. Contacting them is near impossible and the site states no refund. Proceed with caution...marketing needs a lot of work! And subscriptions should be made clear at sign up
I really love this app. I was looking for science-based support with changing my relationship to food and this works perfectly. I find the articles very helpful and my coach is very supportive. I have had sustainable success with this app and I feel confident that I can maintain the changes I've made. It doesn't make a difference to me that my coach lives in a different time zone since everything is done via the I-app messaging system. The convenience of having a support system on my phone is inestimable. A few niggles...the app would be immeasurably improved if you could 'favourite' frequently used foods/recipes and if you could group foods into recipes. This would make food logging a much easier process, particularly as the programme encourages cooking for yourself. Overall, an excellent app and a brilliant approach to being healthy.
The food database to log your calories is very limited add you often have to try to guess at calories. I only used it for one week of the two week free trial. They also charged me $200 for one month and I'm not even sure which plan it is that I'm actually signed up for. The support group is nice, but other than that its definitely not worth $200.00.
