We wanted to create a baking converter which is accurate but also easy to use. A layout where you can find your way fast and easy. We know that when you are baking, you don't want to find your way, or even lose your way in the complexity of an App. You want a precise and quick conversion of your measurements so you can go on cooking.
Baking Converter (2013) converts the most common used weights and volumes in the kitchen, easy and fast with a user friendly layout. We have 4 predefined volumes which can easily be chosen in the homescreen:
Unique!! Because we use these four most common volumes, we are able to give you the result in volume (teaspoon, cup, tablespoon) and also in weight (grams, lbs, ounces).
You can pick one of the four volumes: Flour, liquid, sugar and butter.
These volumes are averages of the most used converting tables.

This baking converter rounds the results in an easy-to-read format. For example, cups will be rounded to 0.25
The Shake-to-refresh function will refresh your screen when you shake your device.
3rd Option: Because our goal is to keep the homescreen easy to read, it only has 3 buttons. The Grams and Cups buttons are fixed. The third button can be set by the user in the preferences. This will keep the screen easy to read, easy to use.

The recipe converter tool allows you to scale, multiply, divide, or portion your recipes to the serving size you desire. Easily convert recipes to your desired serving size by typing in (*or copying and pasting*) the ingredients from your favorite online food blogs or recipe sites.

There is also a conversion to "Cups and Spoons". This conversion will convert volume units to denominations of common measuring cups and spoons. For example, 1.75 cups = 1 cup + 3/4 cup.

With the density converter, you are able to measure ingredients by volume if a mass is listed in a recipe and vice versa.
In addition to the tactile, users of this application can also speak, shake, orient and be close to the phone in order to give input commands. To give the converting value, they can write it using touch keyboard or press the down volume button and then say it if they want to avoid touching the screen. Similarly, they can touch the button “Convert” or shake the phone to get the result. Finally, to change the current activity they can touch the button (volume or weight) or orient the phone ("up" to go from Volume activity to the Weight activity and "Down" for the reverse) while being physically close to it (covering the proximity sensor). In output, the system in turn displays the conversion results.
All weights are in input in grams for ease when calculating small dough sizes.
